on another note, with the seahawks win today, did that eliminate all the aints mathmatical chances?

I think so. I just did a simulation with the Saints winning out and they finish at 9-7 with the Seahawks at 10-6 and getting the last playoff spot. The Seahawks remaining schedulle is very week.

Week 14 - Cardinals
Week 15 - at Bills
Week 16 - Niners
Week 17 - Rams

We won't lose to the Giants.

Home game.
Chance for revenge.
Home field advantage on the line.

Too many things to play for. I would be more worried about the Lions game and losing that.

Saints are not mathematically eliminated until someone gets a 9-7 record as that is still what they could wind up with...they are technically 3 games behind Seattle I think Seattle has the tiebreaker....

So no not yet....so so very close Chicago and SF losing today was huge for us gaining #1 seed throughout.....2 of 4 games is it....I think we get one against the panthers and I think that will be enough....SF still has to play NE and Chi still has to face GB again.....Another fun side note...Beating the NYG could ultimately mean the difference if Dallas or Washington take their spot....Would love to eliminate NYG...too bad we can't eliminate GB.....

Interesting stat I just came across.

2008 - 2nd in NFC South
2009 - 2nd in NFC South
2010 - 1st in NFC South
2011 - 2nd in NFC South
2012 - 1st in NFC South

Since Mike Smith/Matt Ryan we have never finished below 2nd in our division.

Yep. The Falcons definitely own the division. Not the damn Saints.

Home game.

FWIW, the Giants are the only NFL team that has won more road games than home games over the last 10 years.

Also FWIW the Panthers are close to 50-50 on home wins versus road wins over the last decade and that indicates that the Panthers do not enjoy a significant home field advantage.

The Falcons are 23-12 all time against the Panthers. 14-4 at home and 9-8 on the road.

Losing to the Giants would be bad! We have to beat playoff caliber teams!
