didn't we just a few days ago hear the words "good is the enemy of great"

dammit i hate this move. will gladly eat crow if this guy wins us the trophy, but why in hells name would we go to a worse team than us to hire coaches. without even waiting to interview Clements or or or or anyfuckingbody

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

it's a message board, we're allowed to give our opinions. and unlike the mike smith who was a virtual unknown (whom i like by the way) this guy has a history, and it's somewhat UNDER whelming. so if i don't like the hire, that's my perogative. if i wanna come on here and bitch about it, so is that. if you want to skip my posts, that's yours. do so

RE: Dirk our New OC
Tough to judge. Jacksonville is my 2nd favorite team. They have never had the horses at WR or at QB to really be a vertical passing team. Hell Harry Douglas could have been option #1 or #2 over some of the guys they march out at WR the past few years. Wait and see approach. Lets hope for the best. Time to get a DC who will bring the wood.

taking ASU to 3 bowls in 4 years is underwhelming? having the 7th best offense in the NFL with jax talent is underwhelming? fuck a big name.

espn article excerpt

Koetter went 40-33 in six seasons at ASU. Love said the search for a successor would start immediately, but she provided few specifics about possible candidates.

Thanks. I just read it. I am not up on all the language, but I like the apparent adaptability Koetter seems to have. He will clearly have a cerebral QB to work with. My guess is that he will concentrate on the OL first. His QB is going to need more time..plain and simple.

OK, so Koetter is our man. Let's go forward and look for improvement.

I like the hire personally. He seems to have a pretty agressive style of coaching. We have a ton of talent here for him to work with, we just need to get some help at O-line. Defensivly is a whole other ball of wax...

Rise Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what bowls were they? i mean aren't there tons of college bowl games? did he ever win the national championship? so in 6 seasons, he won a total of 7 more games than he lost? i'd also like to understand that '7th best offense' thing. points scored? yards per game? wins???? rushing, passing....there are several different 'bests' out there. was the 7th best that year good enough to win playoff games? get to a super bowl and/or win it?

i'd rather have an unknown who is just awaiting a chance to show what he can do (like the way i liked the mike smith hire) than someone who's not really shown he can do a whole lot. that's my opinion. notice how i stated it without breaking any rules, calling anyone names and/or disrespecting anyone elses opinion because it's different than mine....

Once we get Spags or Nolan, everything will be peachy again

[Image: 2menybt.jpg] Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.
