He said he was held back by Del Rio and his best receiver would be a 3rd receiver on most teams. Also, they put everything into defense this season and did nothing to help the offense.

The guy said Koetter has to be ecstatic thinking about our offensive weapons. The reporter thinks very highly of this guy and thinks it's a very good hire for us even though he is a no name.

He mentioned that the guy probably would have been Denver's head coach this year had they not wanted to go with a big name(John Fox).

I felt a lot better after hearing what that guy said so I will try to stay positive about it.

Been trying to say shit like this. I follow the Jags. Del Rio ran the show. He was arrogant and wanted his hands on everything. I wouldn't mind Del Rio as a coordinator but as a Head Coach he is an epic fail. When it's your way or the highway and you have no flexibility you are really handcuffing your staff, players, and ultimately the potential success of your football team.

Like I said guys lets wait and see.

I can't understand after all the talk about being aggressive with hires Blank and TD went with him. What bothers me most about this hire is Smith insecurity and unwillingness to get out of his comfort zone and hire someone who he doesn't know. This BS Jax connection is becoming ridiculous.

Wow, you guys are as unreal as the fans over on teh AFMB. Why do we as supposedly intelligent beings draw conclusions before we even see what is going to happen? This type of foolishness is why we have stereotypes, racism, etc. Illogical fallacies based on emotion

To be fair, who else has Smith brought in to the organisation who he knows.

Thing is it's not exactly from a position of blindness. There is a track record to look at and it's not impressive. Now, that doesn't mean he will repeat that mark here but I tire of the "didn't have much talent to work with" argument. If you can only be successful when your team is loaded with talent, who needs you? Great coaches make it work.

But the part that bothers me the most is that we made the hire without at least looking at anyone else. That just isn't very smart and it's certainly not the "due diligence" we always hear about.

I have a friend who lives in Jacksonville and is a big time Jags fan. Last week I sent him an email giving him my condolences. Today I received an email saying "And now I send my condolences to you".

looking at his coaching history he's done ALOT with very little. any asshole can win when you have USC talent. the best player ASU ever had was a freaking defensive end...

I don't really think HC at ASU and OC in the NFL is much of a comparison. As an example, Petrino is a damn good HC at Arkansas.
