RE: Dirk our New OC
The only thing I feel right now is sadness. I just can't get excited about this hire.

No need for a playoff win or SB, just winning seasons.

success compounds, after '07 i was just wishing for 7 wins, after '08 it was apparent that this team is on the verge of a dynasty.

i think an OC who actually believes in "explosive concepts" is going to do a lot better than an OC who is forced to implement explosive concepts.

It's the lack of interviewing others that concerns me. To have an open mind, to not just assume you know it all, to see if there might just be something even better out there. And by interviewing others you might also find out that your first guy clearly was the best choice. We'll see though.

I like many of the things he says. I just wish there was more to go on than "the lack of performance wasn't his fault". At this point he is now our OC, I hope with all he said in the article that was posted is that he is allowed to implement his offense fully without Smith standing in the way trying to change him. I can certainly see how Jack Del Rio might have held him back.

Out of every person that was presented for public consumption, it was between Koetter and Clements. I don't know exactly how he'll do, but throwing the guy under the bus before we've even gotten a glimpse of what kind of offense he'll try to run. That's all I'm saying. But riddle me this, what offensive coordinator hire would scream "WE ARE GOING TO WIN A SUPERBOWL"? Just curious, I don't think a single one gave me a certainty that we'll be successful.

Dude, my problem was never with Mularkey's playbook. It was the calls. Koetter is far more predictable and makes the same types of calls. You'll see. MJD is just a quick, fast, and powerful runner. Turner isn't as quick or as fast and we haven't been the same since his injury in '09.

again that's a result of lack of talent, if you only have 2 guys you can rely on ofcourse you're going to be predictable. it's not like dude had roddy, julio, and HD. which even though i wanted to KILL roddy this year (lead the league in drops) i know you know, he's still light years beyond anything the jags have. and julio omg the things he was capable of doing his rookie year with only 13 games made my sisters balls drop.

he has way more toys to play with.

He telegraphs like Mularkey does. THAT is what killed us. The toys are the only reason we made it to the playoffs to start with. Same result next year bro.

Unless we make a severe move on the defensive side.

Koetter is as predictable if not more than Mularkey.

LOL, you liked Mularkey's playbook?

So you're fine with 5-yard curl, hooks, and out routes, no use of screens, little to no use of the RB in the passing game, virtually no crossing routes, very little use of the slot receiver, over-utilization of the TE, and almost no routes that actually hit receivers in stride?

Well, then you really are going to hate Dirk, because he's 100% opposite of all of that.

And calling him "predictable" simply because your only reference is his use of MJD is ignorant. MJD was the ONLY weapon worth a shit that he had and Del Rio was in panic mode. He really didn't have a choice.

From what i've seen and i'm no scar draft expert but julio is capable of some amazing things. things like coming down with the ball in triple coverage, ryan is a VERY accurate quarterback. just give them a fucking chance to make those plays. that's my fucking problem with mularkey he didn't give the offense a chance. just like roddy said, chunk that shit.
