RE: Dimitroff: Falcons to franchise Grimes.
For all the things I know about football a particular gap in my understanding is what happens if Grimes does not sign the tender. Can he sign an offer sheet elsewhere? I understand we likely have compensation somewhere but if some could explain the situation I would appreciate it. As the way I see it currently without us being compensated for his loss somehow Grimes will either play for us or not at all this year. If so is that money actually tied up with him or could it go elsewhere. I can't see where a player can do anything but refuse to sign and run the risk of sitting out a whole year. But at the same time surely the team can't be penalised with his salary? I find it confusing.
