Mental miscues I'm hoping are from fatigue not a great sign for the next 10 game run we face but at the same time we aren't flying out to to the west coast any more and we are operating more local. I expect a lot of adjustments and almost a second half of the season playbook. We've shown a lot of looks but the route combinations haven't been as diverse as that first week when we cut up KC. In my opinion we have kept it vanilla but effective. I think we will start to see more of those progression routes Koetter talked about in the 4 verts interview.

I love what I just heard from Smitty when they showed his locker room speech. He told the guys that they need to get away, not too far, but get away and unplug for a few days and then comeback in ready to work. He said "we're all we've got. We have to stick together and hold each other accountable."

Congrats on the win
I agree, I don't think we have begun to hit our stride. There is lots of room for improvement and you could see it in the players faces. It's nice though, like Weatherspoon said, to be learning those lessons while winning.

We are going to lose sometime in all likelihood, hopefully it comes at a good time (whatever that is), but a loss going into a bye would not have been a good time.

6-0 and not satisfied is right where we need to be.

Right. Falcons are 6-0 and have not played their best yet. Everyone that's a fan should be pumped. But of course most are bitching about it. Who would have thought 6-0 wouldn't be good enough?

RE: Congrats on the win
Every year we hear the falcons havent played their best yet but when do they start? It never seems to happen in the playoffs. I hope this year is different.

The Falcons have never been 6-0 before either.

RE: Congrats on the win
I hope we come out of the bye with two things: a consistent effort in running the ball and better pass pressure as a team. Our pass rush is way too dependent on JA having a good game to get anything going.

Vance Walker has gotten better each game at getting pressure.

RE: Congrats on the win
Honestly, with such a lead in the division, I'd say that it seems the team is remiss to give opponents tape, and is concentrating on saving it all for the postseason. I've no doubt the team uses half their practice time to prepare for things we will not see on the field until January. Smitty is confident we will be there at the end, so he's likely looking to play with his foot off the gas for now.

Hopefully if we keep winning these close ones, we're going to be able to rest lots of key players at the end. I never want to lose, but I sure don't want the 16-0 problem of having to play the last couple of weeks when everyone could be sitting and 100% for a home playoff game!

I just hope you come out of the bye with the understanding that you will once again get swept by the Saints. But, if you otherwise handle your business and go 14-2 it may get you into the postseason.

That is a very good point.

Today was the 8th time in Ryan's career he's posted a QB Rating below 60 (59.4) but just the 3rd time the Falcons have won when that happens. The other 2 wins happened in 2008 against the Bucs (13-10 in OT) and Rams (31-27).
