Check downs
I've noticed something the last couple games, especially when it comes to comebacks. There was a thread here or on the other board about how Falcon receivers never getting open, except, I will add, in these fourth quarter come backs. I watched the Bucs last shot against the saints or the Bills against the Titans or the lions tonight at the bears. It seems like when these teams were moving the ball the QB forces throws and when he doesn't he's checking down. Fitzpatrick moved the ball three yards because he didn't even try to push it to the sidelines or to his receivers instead dumped it off to his back. Freeman had more luck but in the end was forcing it.
But Ryan. Against the panthers he play faked in the end zone then heaved it down the field to white his top receiver who was open. Then he hit gonzo and jones and Douglas all who were open. Everything we put down on this team, line can't block, receivers can't get open, it all comes together on these drives. I watched the lions and their receivers had trouble their line got decimated by a 4 man rush. When we get to those moments this team rises up things come together. It's impressive. Ryan gets all the credit but man do they all make it happen. |

We've got the talent on offense to do that. We just haven't done it yet. ![]()

RE: Check downs
It's amazing how often prevent defenses get beat long. Roddy was double covered against the Panties. Victor Cruz was covered by four Skins when Eli hit him.

RE: Check downs
I don't know how many times we've been in prevent D and allowed the other team to threaten with a win. Running the same D all game long would help more than go into a prevent.
