Is he for real? or is that a one off catch?

RE: Chase Coffman
It was a good catch man. Maybe he grooms into the TG role. Heckuva catch regardless.

RE: Chase Coffman
Chase Coffman has talent no doubt. He's a really good receiving tight end. He was a 2nd or 3rd round pick by the Bengals (in 2009 I think) outta Missouri but has had a ton of injuries in the NFL. Also he's not a very good blocker.

But I had no idea he was #86. I saw him go up for that catch and I said when did we bring back Finn. He looked just like Finn on that catch, same body type and everything.

he was known as a receiving TE coming out of MO. the knock on him was blocking. when he broke his foot his rookie year, it took longer to heal than the bengals wanted to wait, and they drafted his replacement. Lucky for us TB cut him when they picked up dallas clark.

he was one I'd hoped, and saw several others too who said they thought he'd be a good pick up for us. that was a helluva catch he made on the sidelines. He can be coached up on his blocking. hope he sticks around a while

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Chase Coffman
Blocking and tackling are fundamentals. You learn that in Pee Wee. Every NFL player knows how to block and tackle but a bunch don't want to do it. I agree coach him up.

RE: Chase Coffman
HE was money in college even if MO's TE is more of a WR.

Tons of talent, and that was an excellent catch. That was no ball bouncing of of someone's helmet into the arms of HD fluke.

RE: Chase Coffman
Can't really teach good hands, leaping ability, and athleticism. Coffman already has those.

Blocking can be taught. Coffman stands at 6'6" 250 lbs. Gonzo is an inch shorter and the same weight and had trouble run blocking early in his career.

It takes some practice to get better at but it can be done.

Now, IDK if THEY think Coffman is the future at TE but I think he has potential to be.

[Image: 2menybt.jpg] Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

RE: Chase Coffman
Heck, I thought that catch WAS Tony until I watched the highlights after the game. I was going "who the hell is Chase Coffman?".
