What's really the difference between a 30 yd incompletion on 1st down and Turner stuffed up the middle for no gain? And THAT goes on Mularkey. Isn't he nicknamed "Inspector Gadget" or something? Yeahhhhhh riight, Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

RE: Can anyone recall...
Another season later and this thread is still painfully relevant.
I really need to see things change and soon. So tired of watching this lumbering offense. |

RE: Can anyone recall...
that's strictly on the coordinator. yeah the players have to execute but it's kinda hard to execute when people already know what you're gonna do, and then you don't adjust. man we got a gang of talent. throw in some sets with Meier & Weems. throw Snelling & Quizz in the backfield. 5 WR sets, 4 WR sets. flea flickers, hell run the Statue of Liberty or the fumble-rooski, just do SOMETHING defenses haven't seen a million times on tape. and Ryan needs to grow a pair and throw the damn ball, let the receivers make a play on it.

If we win, its going to have to be on offense. We aren't going to shut Philly out so the conservative clock killing gameplan is going to have to go out the window. We need to be able to strike at will and keep up. They are loaded on offense and wore out a St Louis defense that was blitzing early and often. It looks like the gameplan to shut down Vick and the Eagles has been reverse engineered. We need to plan on keeping up and keeping ahead. I don't see why we don't use the no huddle and give Matt complete control of the offense. I don't see how it can get any worse than it already is. The offense seems better to me when he's in the driver's seat. |

It's really getting harder and harder to defend Mularkey. Case in point: The only time I saw Quizz today he was being run up the middle into a brick wall of D-linemen on back-to-back plays on 1st and 2nd down. The fuck is that? At least try to get the guy in space where he has a snowball's chance in hell of doing something. |

I don't think I've ever seen a team cover the fullback out in the flat against us. bottom line, we got way too much speed to be crippling ourselves the way we do

RE: Can anyone recall...
We got out of our rhythm and got exposed.
Turner averaged 10 yards a carry. Our run blocking and run offense looked great. But whenever we got something going we stalled out with penalties or turnovers or a field goal. The offense could not finish anything, especially inside the 20. Last year we were among the best on 3rd down. Great with turnovers Awesome with the penalties. All things we fucked up today. All of them fixable. I'm bored with rehashing this game though. I'm ready to start thinking about next week. |

You know, i sit back and tell myself these guys are professionals and try not to question them, but damn I'd really like to be a fly on the wall and be privy to the thought processes behind some of the moves they make. |
