What's funny is, she will take a guess while they're in the huddle, then as soon as they line up before the snap, she'll change it and she's even more accurate after she see's the set. If you are being literal you should feel very proud. I have said it before as fans we have seen almost everyplay in the playbook. No coordinator is drawing plays in the dirt. You can go to any teams board and see that there fans hate certain plays there OC's run over and over. Even the Packers and Saints. They are not drawing things up in the dirt. You have to believe in your offensive philosophy and stick with it. If you run your plays effectively and efficiently and maybe with minor formation or route adjustments you should win the down. Some plays are set ups and some are knockouts but they are part of the gameplan. ![]()

Everything is not going to work to plan the defenses adjust but MM did a solid job. What, letting the Eagle Dline have their way so we nearly killed our QB, and gave the Eagles great field Position, is effective play calling? I'll give MM credit in terms of that we won the game, his redzone calls were great, but we could have prevented some of the Eagles comeback if we decided to tire them out earlier. I got lit up for giving Chris Owens props for a good play, now Im getting lit up for not being pleased with our Coordinator's mediocre game plan. It's been a huge trend of our team, in all phases, that we lift the foot off the gas after the half. We won because our RB was used properly, and apparently our QB is the Highlander because he should've been killed. The mismatches were obvious, and we didn't really go on the attack until the late 3rd Quarter. I just think our coaching staff doesn't instill a killer instinct in our team. We have to quit conceding that every game is going to be close and try and go for the kill. Mularkey absolutely deserves some credit, but the world is starting to notice that our offense takes on an entire different character when Matt is in charge. I'm not saying Mularkey should be fired by any means, we scrape wins with him, but he needs to give more to Matt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3CXS04cy...re=related |

Madden and tv coverage makes us think we know what's going on, but I could never hope to understand all 11 player's assignments and reads on any given play on either side of the ball. |

Just because you know the weakness, doesn't mean it is going to be ridiculously easy to exploit. That 60 yard run by Turner was the exact same play that had been called multiple times before in the game. You know the weakness, you keep pressing it, and eventually it breaks open. |

It kind of did. 2TE sets and Ovie helped keep them from blitzing which if JJ was still there DC we would have seen more of. We ran the ball and had 5+ on 4 match-ups what else did you want. Match up issues go both ways. Cole and Cullen had favorable match-ups. There also were some coverage sacks and Qb hurries. The no huddle worked to help with some of that but it is not practical to run that the entire game. ![]()

RE: Atlanta Falcons' Mike Mularkey Deserves More Credit For Eagles Win [article]
Our entire offense for a few years now has been about helping the line. Comebacks, outs, hitches, curls, along with bootlegs and a run based attack, etc. These timing based routes are incredibly hard to defend against if there is a great sense of anticipation, timing, and accuracy from the QB along with good hands and focus by the receiver. The receiver doesn't need great measurables to get open, and the offensive line doesn't need to block for very long.
So now that we're running deeper routes that move down the field, and require the WR to be able to really beat the coverage, we're putting more stress on the offensive line. That means they have to hold their blocks and keep their QB upright. While we have the talent on the outside, the backfield, and under center, the missing piece is now a real offensive line to protect the QB that makes it all work effectively. |

I have said for years that Ryan makes the line better than they actually are, and the last two games prove it.
Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |
