Falcons Akeem Dent...What's the problem?

RE: Akeem Dent...What's the problem?
Can he be that much worse in coverage than Peterson? The move makes sense to me (even though I would have probably gone a different direction). He should rarely be stuck out in coverage, getting subbed out by a nickelback. To be fair, the Lofton pick didn't make a ton of sense either, as he is fantastic against the run, he is terrible in coverage. It's not as big of a deal for the MLB, but still something that gets exposed at times. I know he will have cracked the starting lineup by next year, but I don't know if he will get a meaningful amount of reps prior to that point.

You know, this is NOT the football I remember an loved. This is becoming something else. Run stopping DE's, coverage LB's (not in a Tampa 2), and run blocking WR's.

I just don't like it.

I watched him play 1 game last year. Dude plays very well against the triple option. No NFL team runs the triple option, however, a few teams do run the Wildcat which is vaguely similar.

Lofton stepped up quite a bit on his pass coverage. It was his run defense that took a step back this year.

If it wasn't for Vick leaving, we could of had a running QB. Now we just need Reggie Bush and we can have receiving running backs. Tongue
