Falcons 2010: Road Vs. Home
Much has been made of the Falcons record at home (18-3 under Smitty, 18-1 under Ryan, 5-0 this season), however, I started wondering how big a disparity between the Falcons in the Georgia Dome versus when they travel. Looking sheerly at yards per game on both sides of the ball and points per game for the 2010 season, this is what I came up with:
Code: Totals:The numbers are pretty straight forward, the Falcons put up much better numbers at home and are better at keeping their opponents at bay. However, what I find most interesting is the Points Allowed Per Game. At Home, the Falcons allow 19 PPG, on the Road, they allow 20. Despite giving up an average of 30 more yards per game on the road versus at home, the Falcons D is only giving up 1 more point. IMO, our "road woes", as I've heard them described around the water cooler, seem to come from our passing offense not getting going more than anything else. |

Wow, great post! Looks like the D isn't really bad on the road.

Good post man. I agree, the passing game hasn't cooperated away from the Dome. Matt is still growing, and I'm sure he'll work that out soon enough.
