My only explanation for that is Smitty was going to run another quick play to the sideline to get it closer but then Bryant or someone told him to just kick the field goal. It wouldn't have been bad if Bosher hadn't fucked up the squib kick. Bosher had a terrible game today. Hope he has gotten that shit outta his system.

I never understood the Squib.

Kicking from the 35 most kickers and put it out of the endzone. Do that. Then they have to go 45-50 yards in :08 seconds. Squib and he might have to 25-30

Any chart you pull up will either advise against going for 2 until the 4th quarter and taking the extra point in that situation. You will probably see that when/if you look it up.

I think he made the right move, but to each their own. I will agree that it would have been an agressive mov tho

What sucked is they gave us half the distance to the goal on the first offside penalty and we could have had two points from only 1 yard out.

I thought for sure Smith would send the offense back on the field but the camera showed Matty taking a seat.

If the squib kick is executed like it was suppose to it would have run out the 8 seconds and the Seahawks don't get an offensive play.

But you can't kick it deep in that situation, especially not to Leon Washington who has 8 career kickoff return touchdowns. Just because a kicker has a strong leg doesn't mean every kickoff is going to be out of the back of the end zone. You can't take that chance.

Ever watch the Saints punter kick?

The new rules in the NFL limit kickoff returns have done it this year. I know why the Squib exists it isn't a hundred percent effective, not anymore than kicking deep

My current theory on that is that Coach Smith lost track of the timeouts remaining. He thought that there was one more in his pocket.
