It's just too early in his career to put him on that pedestal yet. He gets us to the SB then an argument can be made. Sure, sure. Why is it everyone keeps setting these "bars" to label him, but when he reaches those bars, suddenly, that isn't good enough - - there is a new one. Let's just say I'm glad he's our Quarterback - and personally, I wouldn't trade him for any other quarterback in the league. While there are quarterbacks with better arms, some with better stats, some with a longer resume - he is perfect for us. He's selfless, talented, has leadership skills off the chain, dedicated, hard working and more than anything else - he's a winner. So, you can call him Okay, good, elite, crap or whatever you want - to me, it's like watching a young Montana come to maturity - and I'm frankly enjoying the hell out of the process. ![]()

I despise the term elite because it is all opinion. The definition is far too wide and can be interpreted too many ways. Just look at what this team has done since he got here and look at his ridiculously good numbers next to some of those HOFers. He has single-handedly turned the Falcons franchise into a yearly winner...something no other QB has done. The kid has basically erased 40+ years of suffering for an entire city and fanbase much like Brees did for NO and Warner did for STL. THAT is what impresses memost and makes me think we are embarking on a decade of great seasons.
If that doesn't fit your opinion of "elite" then whatever. |

RE: FORGET "ICE", He's Matty "ELITE" Ryan (link included)
the elite NFL qbs in my eyes are brady, rivers, brees and p.manning.
ryan is just...and i mean JUST....outside of that window. the 2 things ryan is missing that those guys have are 1 - playoff wins 2 - elite stats. if ryan wins in the playoffs he's elite in my eyes. he makes the players around him better, he can lead us to a great comeback win, he can win on the road, he's the guy that makes this offense go, he's AMAZING in the clutch, he's the face of the franchise and most importantly the guy WINS. all matty ice does is WIN. like swift said, if we don't win a ring under ryan it will be because of 1 of 2 things 1- he gets hurt (GOD FORBID!!!) or 2- we're just cursed. ryan's going to bring championship(s) to the ATL and even the aints fans know it. it's not a matter of if, but when.

There really should be no excuse why we dont win at least 1 game now that were more then likely going to have a 1st round bye and home game .. I dont see how anyone could consider this year a success if we dont get 1 playoff win . Division title ........... nice win streak ............nice this season needs to be capped off with a divisional playoff game win .. Rodgers needs to step up this year as well but his team is banged up more then anything lost there solid rb and lost there starting TE ... Rodgers is close to elite just like Ryan is but they both need to take next step in that process and help lead teams to playoff wins (12-20-2010 03:01 PM)cooperbh Wrote: That was Turner. funny Cards stop Turner in playoff game and Ryan played poor....I have the confidence in Ryan if thats the case this year to put team on his back but Turner has been rolling as of late and i see really nobody in NFC that can stop our run offense ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB .
