Has Roddy entered any dancing competetions or have any stupid TV shows? I think not. For these reasons only Roddy is a FAIL and this thread is a giant FAIL.

I always thought of Andre as a beastly strong WR, but Roddy should really be getting that type of respect now. He is, from corners anyway. We haven't seen any corners try to put a press on Roddy in ages it seems.

Would Marshall have chased down Clements...nope Would Marshall have bounced back from a devistating fumble return for 6 to catch the go ahead TD....nope. Roddy is not just the best WR, he's one of the best players in the NFL. |

(10-26-2010 12:08 AM)Jesus Wrote: Really? 1. yes 2. Marshall is one of the biggest, strongest receivers in the NFL. Not only do you have a receiver with 3 consecutive 100 catch seasons (Roddy never surpassing the 88 mark), but one that can be a tight end on running plays. He has 369 receptions in his career...the EXACT same amount as Roddy does. Only difference? Roddy's been in the league a year longer. Marshall is 2.5 years younger than Roddy also, so it would be more fair to compare Marshall's play now to Roddy's two years ago. Roddy is having a great season, which is the upside he has over Marshall who isn't even close. My argument for that is Chad Henne, Marshall will only get better as he digs into this Miami offense. 3. It's impossible to tell, but I don't look at forced fumbles as an important statistic when judging wide receivers. It was great hustle and an extreme statement on Roddy's will, but not enough to say "that makes him the best regardless of receiving stats". If we're talking about this year, then Roddy is the unanimous winner, but that's unfair. Ahmad Bradshaw isn't the best running back in the league, DeAngelo Hall isn't the best corner in the league, and Sebastian Janikowski isn't the best kicker in the league. After the season will be a better time to judge what is happening right now, but until then, I still think Marshall is the pound-for-pound better wide out. Not taking ANYTHING away from my love for Roddy White, my 2 jerseys speak for themselves. He's still a top 3 receiver, and still our best player, no contest. What's great about Roddy is he never stops. Plus did you not see him laying blocks this weekend? He looked great. Marshall catches a lot of balls but they don't amount to much. He's never been to the playoffs and none of his teams have ever had winning records.
I think the extra hustle does make him the best. The same week of the Clements fumble Randy Moss had the same chance to chase down a pick 6 and didn't even try. Remember White did it last year with Dre Bly. He has a will to win. |

He's never been to the playoffs and none of his teams have ever had winning records.I agree, Roddy is great when it comes to giving 100 percent, and he has improved a lot blocking-wise this season. With that said, Marshall is the best receiver at run blocking, I remember Sports Illustrated doing a defensive back poll and Marshall was the clear number one vote on the "receivers you hate blocking against" poll. He's huge, freakishly strong, and one of the fastest I've seen. In terms of going to the playoffs, Marshall has missed it 3 years in a row by one game, but I certainly wouldn't put that on a team's number 1 wide receiver. Regular season winning percentage wise, Marshall's big 3 years have been 9-7, 8-8, and 8-8. White's have been 5-11, 11-5, and 9-7. With White's lone playoff loss aside, the records are equal. As for the comparison to Moss, you won't get an argument out of me on that one. Moss is a bum when it comes to giving a 110 60 minutes a game, the main thought that comes to mind for me is not running a route the last play of the game when he was in Minnesota. Guys like T.O., Ocho Cinco, and Moss are never mentioned by me because of their mouths. Like I said, White is still my favorite player in the game, and here's to him ending this argument by the end of the season. RE: Explain Why Roddy isn't the Best WR Right Now, and I'll Tell You Why You are Wrong
I'm a big fan of Marshall, but Roddy is better and it's not even close.
He's a pure possession guy. He's big, he gets a lot of yac and he's a target monster, but Roddy is big, he's usually good at getting yac, he's a deep threat and he has yet to play in a pass happy offense. Roddy also gets into the endzone more often (he catches about 15 less passes) and NO qb Marshall has played with is anywhere near as bad as Joey h or lefty. Add in marshalls off the field crap (attitude and his history of domestic violence) and it's not even close.
