RE: Expansion Team Game
Ok, Here we go
Team Name Richmond Revolution (we already and a team with a cool name here so I am taking it) Offense Quarterback: Matt Flynn, Green Bay (Young QB with tons of Potential, ask New England) Runningback: Tashard Choice, Dallas (Tons of tread left on the tires, I think he is being missused also) Fullback: Fui Vakapuna, Cinci (loved this kid in hard knocks, Intensity!!!!) O-line: Marcus McNeil, San Diego (Good Experience that won't get my QB killed) Brandon Moore, NY Jets (Played out of his mind this past year) Sam Baker, Atlanta (seems to be over injury issues, young, move him to right side) Wide Recievers: Kenny Britt, Tenn. (Couple of huge games last year, young, gotta keep him out of trouble) Lee Evans, Buffalo (experinced, will also be a great teacher to the younger recievers) Tight End: Dustin Keller, NY Jets (easy one, had an awesome year last year and surprisingly no pro bowl) Defense (only six picks left so this should be interesting, will have to fill huge void with draft, running a 4-3 btw) D-end: Chris Long, St, Louis (Still young, high motor came into his own, but not a superstar yet IMO) D-tackle: Jonathan "S.S." Babineaux, Atl. (a little old, but being a fan would love to have him on my team, Monster) MLB: Lofa Tatupu, Seattle (Experienced leader, honestly pickings are kind of slim here) Corner: Leigh Bodden, New England (Still playing at a high level, servicable to say the least) Safety: Laron Landry, Washington (Relativly young, seems to be stepping up his game in the last couple of years) Draft: #1: Defensive Tackle Marcell Darius, Alabama (Destructive force in the middle for a long time) #2: Center Stefan Wisniewski, Penn State ( If he is half the player that his uncle was he will be awesome) #3: SAM backer Martez Wilson, Illinois (good size and speed, will match up well in TE coverage) #4: WILL backer Colin McCarthy, Miami (Played all three spots at college, team leader, hard worker) #5 FS Robert Sands, West Virginia (tall, rangey, 35" vert, 4.57 40, Raw) #6 OG Demarcus Love, Arkansas (Scraping bottom of barrel here, but tons of potential, good size) #7 DE Greg Romeus, Pitt (Taking a shot here and hoping he can regain his old form pre injury) Free Agent Signing Nnamdi Asomugha (need i say anything else) Ok , In order to round out this roster, I actually need one more wide reciever as I ran out of total picks Slot Reciever (Brad Smith, also takes care of punt and kick return dutys) I spent a more time than I should have on this so please..... be gentle. I took all rules put forth and beleive I actually created a starting lineup that can be reasonably competitive starting out in the NFL. If we are terrible we also luck out and get Andrew Luck with the first pick next year..... Ha (Luck out) Enjoy

It almost makes up for you taking a DT with the 1 overall pick in the draft. He is a great player don't get me wrong, but is he the "face of your franchise"? ![]()

RE: Expansion Team Game
As an expansion franchise I don't see any person in this draft that is the face of my franchise. I really don't see Flynn being my starting quarterback for and extended period of time. With this particular team I will be filling many spots with UDFA, My Nickel will get destroyed on a weekly basis, I truely see myself with another top five pick next year and with Carolina Picking Number one again next year, i am figuring I can send my first and second this year and my second next year for #1 overall for Mr Andrew Luck (Who will absolutly be the face of my franchise)
![]() Tashard Choice is a monster... would love to see him in Atlanta, he could possible be a starter here.... Love me some Turner, but Choice is straight money.... Don't get me wrong either, I will pull a TD and morgage my franchise future for Luck, no doubt.... Rise Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Dude is the only guy EVER to lead the ACC in rushing and NOT be picked for the All - ACC team. Talk about underrated, Tashard is the very definition of the word. ![]()

RE: Expansion Team Game
Just too many variables in this equation to go into much detail. There's simply no way to predict which veteran players would be available in an expansion draft.
So, assuming all such players are strictly backups, my plan would basically consist of acquiring skill position players like Shaun Hill, Rashad Jennings, Jacoby Jones, Robert Meachum, Martellus Bennett, etc in the expansion draft, then spending high draft picks during the next few rookie drafts on offensive and defensive linemen as well as a franchise QB to groom. Maybe grab a premier DB in free agency at some point, if possible. That's about as specific as I can get without an actual listing of available expansion draft players, though. Depending on who was left unprotected, it could totally change my team-building strategy above. |
