I remember years ago on sportscenter seeing a piece on Anthony Gonzalez his senior year at Ohio State, he used one all through college. I wonder how that's been working for him? . . . Oh . . . wait . . .

Dude, seriously, do you ever pause to think before shit flies off your fingers and you hit "post reply?"

And as fans, we're not owed any inside information regarding player status or injury. Leave it to the people who matter to decide what's said and what isn't. Some folks around here have a strange sense of entitlement.

But Joe, what is really "gained" by the mystery of not being more forthcoming with injuries? I understand "gamesmanship" but I just don't get it...I know the Patriots shroud their injuries as well and TD comes from that organization (which is a good one) but I think most NFL franchises don't make injuries such a mystery.

No I am just SICK of seeing every 1st Round Rookie Draft pick of ours on the Injury List every season. Every damn season, every top Pick ends up missing either all of most of the year.

I was just making a joke about the fact that Smith ALWAYS makes the injury situation seems better than it actually is.

Four weeks before Jenkins finally got on the field, Smith was saying "it looks pretty good for him to play this week".

You have to know how to read Smith. "We anticipate that he’ll get an opportunity to practice before the end of the week " - yeah......that sounds bad to me.

I don't think the question of gain (other than staying minimally compliant with league reporting rules) ever enters the staff's minds. I think their only concern is potential loss through divulging more info than is absolutely necessary. There's no clear way to judge the merits or dangers of either path, but one is clearly safer than the other.

Is it somehow Weatherspoon's fault he is hurt?

Do you have some evidence he is faking injury or otherwise not being honest about his condition?

Because that's what your post implied.
