ESPN and MNF timeouts
I had a buddy call me up because he was listening to Rush Limbaugh talking about ESPN being accused of asking for timeouts to be taken so they could air more commercials. I tried to find the article on the Rush site, but upon a Google search I found about 10 on the subject. This being the best one. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...k-del-rio/
This has all sorts of ramifications to it. The biggest being fantasy football and the betting going on with it. Chris Johnson should have been out of the game. He just ended up padding the stats. Makes you wonder if someone lost $50k over this timeout situation. We will have to keep an eye on the Vegas police reports.

RE: ESPN and MNF timeouts
This did nothing to ease my suspicion that alot of the NFL is fixed.

RE: ESPN and MNF timeouts
As much as I hate to give credit to either side about Monday night, Tenn had already covered the spread so that extra TD at the end by CJ wouldn't have made any difference.
This is my signature. |

RE: ESPN and MNF timeouts
It wasn't true. The quote was taken out of context. Gotta love the internet:

Now, whether or not that affected Del Rio's decision to call those timeouts, who knows. It did seem kind of odd that he called those timeouts though. |

It only made a difference to fantasy owners that owned Chris Johnson and owners who were playing against him. I can tell you that the TD run on 4th down by Johnson made me happy and a guy named Chris unhappy. It was pretty funny that Al Michaels followed the TD with "I'm not sure why Chris Johnson was still in there, but a lot of fantasy football games were decided on that play". |
