Grimes broke off from the opposite side & almost caught Hightower. When the play was unfolding, I noticed something streaking across the field & it was Grimes. I looked at my wife & shouted Grimes might catch him! But he just didn't quite have the angle. His only shot was to dive for the shoestrings & it just wasn't enough. Either way, that play wasn't on him in any way shape or form. That was just a bad set called by BVG. It was the EXACT same set that screwed us on the Mendenhall run last week in OT. |

RE: Dunta Robinson
As a side note: Did anyone notice the change in the D-line after that big run. The next series I started seeing #98 at LDE, and thought Gazoo must be going crazy at AFMB, or his house. Both the long runs of the last two weeks were a breakdown of the ENTIRE DEFENSE, and not just a single player. The one today was about guys getting blocked out and falling down, therefore blocking others out of the play, making our defense on that play look like keystone cops. I was very happy when after that, they settled in and actually did their job correctly, but that play stank and they all need to be putting in laps or push-ups to atone.
Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |

His only shot was to dive for the shoestrings & it just wasn't enough. It wasn't a bad scheme call by BVG...at all. It was an 8 man run front...the perfect defense to stop the run. The bad thing is, with all the players crowding the LOS, 1 man misses a run gap, and to the house goes the back. We haven't played a lot of 8 man front, the players will get better at it as the season goes along. |

Dunta was on the opposite side lined up with Fitz & Grimes was just inside Dunta. As I said, Grimes came from the opposite side of the field & almost made that play. |

RE: Dunta Robinson
Just wanted to comment on this, you can aruge that the better secondary play is a result of a better pass rush or better personell. But I think it's obvious that we've improved signifcantly in the defensive backfiled
Next week will tell the tale, but I am especially pleased with Dunta Robinson to this point. |
