RE: Dunta Robinson is a bum..
he has 2 pass defend he also gave up the td and made one of the poorest attempts of a tackle I ever seen ..he also allowed a couple of catches in front of him to go for more YAC ...the pass defense on the post route was nice but for A CORNER that we gave 41 million dollars to and was suppose to bounce back after a poor season last year has been nothing more then a disappointment

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

His play on the skinny post pass in the end zone was a thing of beauty.

He's not a shut down corner and we did overpay to get him, but he was probably the best FA option we had at the time.

Just seems to me to be a weird time to initiate this thread. Maybe it's just me.

Big Grin agreed

RE: Dunta Robinson is a bum..
as much as I hated Deangelo Hall selfish act and he was ran out of town he has played 10x better then Dunta has and most of our fan base started to sour on Hall as well .. so I guess since Dunta keeps a low pro file and is not selfish but makes no impact on the field and has turned into a liability in pass defense I guess its ok ....hmm that is kind of funny

agreed.....our scheme is a HUGE factor. We are back to the Ed Donatell defense - we line up our corners 10 yards off the line of scrimmage(LOS).

Do you know how easy it is for NFL WRs to get open when the Corner lines up 10yds off the line? well, I will tell you - its pretty damn easy.

BVG's defense right now plays the pass very passively - we take away the 30+ yd passes but the corners are sitting ducks for an accurate short passer of the football.

Picture this: You run a 4.5/40 and I run a 4.45/40 - I get 10yds to run as fast as I can toward you while you are squatting but standing still - then I break to the right/to the left or some other way - instantly I have a 5 yard cushion against you.

I don't think any cover corner would look that great the way we defend. Bump/run corners can defend the short passes but playing 10yds off the line does not work - throw in an anemic pass rush - and there you go.

NOTICE SWIFTY'S SIGNATURE PIC BELOW W/ DEION UP ON THE LINE VERSUS RISON.....YOU NEVER SEE OUR CORNERBACKS ON THE LOS.

RE: Dunta Robinson is a bum..
we play a Tampa 2 cover scheme .. corners who can cover actually flourish in it ... Ronde Barber has done pretty well and makes plays

RE: Dunta Robinson is a bum..
I'm not hating on Dunta, but I can't blame BVG for Dunta giving up the easy TD on the slant. Can't do it.

Dunta wasn't bad yesterday. The Bucs did most of their damage on the ground.

Now.....on that one play.....Benn did make both Dunta and William Moore look STUPID.

That left me more wishing we had some shifty WRs than it made me mad at Dunta.

the one thing that I really hate about Dunta is giving up the inside on the slant routes. Especially on third downs - you have to force the WR to the outside and take away the slant.

That is exactly it. Really only him and Bodden were viable options. Bodden wasn't leaving the Pats but if he did it wouldve been for he same big money. No way we were going to sign a restricted free agent and give up high draft picks, especially given who was available.

So really it came down to getting best available or continue trying stuff like Tye Hill.

Here is a list of who was available in case anyone is interested.
