lmfao @ Rashard Mendenhall being one of the best RB's in the league. Whatever you're smoking, I'll take 2 bags.

I mention how the Steelers dont go out and spend money on free agency and build through the draft I get hit with a rebuttal no one was saying TD shouldnt have that time but he is not taking the road we all thought he would by building through the draft ...

Jesus

can anyone say Pitt goes out and spends big $$ in free agency ?

Thank you

James Farrior worked out. As did Foote. As did bringing back Randel El. And Mewelde Moore. And James Harrison. And Charlie Batch. The list goes on.

We needed a jump start to our team to build underneath while winning. We had to make a couple bigger moves to do that and win right away. The plan is working.

Steelers top FA signings from 1993 to present:

Norm Johnson
Wayne Gandy
Mike Tomczak
Ray Seals
Ryan Clark
Duval Love
Kimo von Olhoffen (Bengals)
Kevin Greene (Rams)
Jeff Hartings (Replaced Dermonti Dawson for god's sake...from the LIONS)
James Farrior (HUGE)

So yeah, I'd say they did a lot in FA. Fortunately for them, most was on the lines.

I would say Mendlehall in top 7

CJ
AP
Turner
MJD
Foster
Jackson
Mendlehall
Rice

I wouldn't call that doing a lot over a course of 18 years. Not anywhere near "a lot". I'd call that "very little".

What was James Farrior contract HUGE by any means he signed a 18 million ext

not sure what the numbers were in his first contract but I dont think they were huge

Yeah I didnt think that helped his argument . Pitt really doesnt do much in free agency they are the model franchise..From drafting to coaching to scheme to just bout everything.

Over Past 10 years we have gave out 10x more in contracts

Peerless Price
Turner
Dunta Robinson
Abe .....sign and trade
Todd Weiner
Ovie
Dunn
Rod Coleman

I like TD and I like his approach for the most part but the results just aren't there. I don't think we need to fire him or anything drastic like that. But he could adjust the way he looks at things and how much confidence he is putting in his picks. If his ego weren't so big maybe he would have given a Santonio Holmes a shot, when he was to be had on the cheap, or shored up the situation at DE. He put too much confidence in small school guys to turn into "gems" of the draft and left big holes unfilled. Can you imagine what our pass rush would look like if Abe had gone down for the season? Not that it could have gotten much more pathetic, but just stop and wonder for a second. TD's ego let him believe his picks were going to do fine. They didn't. Time to man up and bring in some talent to rush the passer.

The results ARE there if you can't see that you are blind. TD took over after a 4-12 season, we lost our franchise QB had no coach our team was in shambles.

since then we have won 33 games and have one of the best record in the NFL since TD joined the team. Those results most teams would gladly trade for.

You can nitpick draft picks and FA signings till the cows come home but the results speak for themselves. 33wins 3 straight winning seasons and easily the best 3 year span in Falcons history.
