Dimitri Nance may become "the guy" in green bay

RE: Dimitri Nance may become "the guy" in green bay
He's a beast at pass catching out of the backfield, and Green Bay can do that very well. I think he is a very good fit there, and the style of offense they run.

I'm not going to lie and say that I don't wish we would have kept him over Smith.

Nance > Smith.

Anyone who saw how well he caught the ball, and field vision in the preseason would have caught that.
I think we missed on something special there and I still am not sure what smith did to secure a roster spot.
I am only an arm chair GM so who knows Sad

For the life of me, I can't understand all this Nance love. I didn't know a thing about Smith coming out of college, but I knew plenty about Nance. He was a decent back at ASU but certainly not a special one. I can't remember him having any impressive games against run-defense oriented teams. He had precious few against anybody.

He averaged 2.5 YPA in preseason against second team defenders. Two TDs from point blank range and suddenly he's the next big thing? The team that gets him has a gem? All I can think is that if his name had been Bear Nance, we'd have had an epidemic of orgasm-induced comas among some of you guys.

Pretty much what you, phocis and caver said. Can't add much to that. People remember TDs but forget to watch the actual plays during the games. And then a rookie gets treated like doggie doo for fumbling in one of his first ever (preseason mind you) NFL games. I don't get the hate.

Nance showed some nice flashes, but I still think they kept the right guy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Nance have a nice catch on a screen that he took about 20 yards to the house that got called back because of penalty. Maybe that's something people remember skill-wise that doesn't reflect in the stats...If it happened even...sorry, I was probably watching the game at like 3AM here, so, yeah...

I don't think they do. They were easy, walk in touchdowns, he wasn't even touched until he got into the endzone. His longest run in nearly 20 carries was 9 whole yards the entire preseason. He wasn't impressive. People are only so down on Smith was because of that one fumble.

Smith or Nance, Who cares? Neither one of them would see the field all that much with Turner, Snelling, and Ovie. So I don't see what all the fuss is about. With Turner and Snelling, we're going to be loaded at RB for a long time. IMHO we should be worrying about WR. We need someone on the other side of Roddy, We need more of a game changer than Jenkins.
