I didn't realize how much I liked Madden until he was gone.

In his prime Madden was the best color guy in all of sports. I can still remember his work on the 98 championship game. He was so excited and kept saying it over and over again. His quote when overtime started was something like "This game is why football is the greatest game in the world." to hear him say that about the Falcons was just great, considering he was always saying those things about the niners or giants or skins.
