Seriously, I haven't heard anything about him in quite a while...I think it would be interesting to hear what he had to say about the Merriman, Robinson and Harrison hits and the action the NFL has taken...I know some people didn't care for John, but I thought he was a great commentator.

I don't understand those people. John was probably the G.O.A.T. of FB commentary, IMO. Very entertaining, and more importantly, KNOWLEDGEABLE about the game. Usually didn't mess up players names. Dude really knew his stuff. Sure he was goofy and could sometimes say homerish or polarizing things, but I can't think of anyone else in that field who you could hold up against him as better. You're right. Would be interesting to hear what he has to say about these fines. And I'm betting if he were to be honest, it would be none too flattering. Brent Grimes ~ "I want the ball, man!"

John Madden has probably forgotten more about football than most of us would ever know. Easily one of my all time favorite commentators ever. |

John Madden always made a game more interesting. He has shown many times that he really knows football and was entertaining with the "telestrater".
I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |

He was on with Colin Cowherd on Wed. He agreed with the league, and their new policies. I also heard Fran Tarkenton on 680 this morning, and he also agreed with the NFL.
