None of this means squat. The Moch kid from Nevada ran a 4.45 40 yesterday & he's a LB that will go in the 4th-5th round & end up being an above average ST guy at best.

The biggest thing teams get out of the combine are the medical exams followed by the interviews. Everything else is frosting.

The only VISUAL thing I look for in the drills is "body control & quickness". I want to know an offensive guy who has the ball can get YAC & a defensive guy can stay low & shed blocks. That's really it. Everything else can be taught, even consistent hands. Body control & quickness can't be taught.

Now if there's a guy who surprises me by running really fast, jumping really high & far, lifting 225 a bunch of times for his position, AND shows great body control with that sneaky quickness, THEN I'll happily recognize them.

And the guys who I noticed in this combine that fit that mold are:
TE's-DJ Williams, Rob Housler, & Virgil Green
RB's-Mikel LeShoure, DeMarco Murray, Deon Lewis, & Da'Rel Scott
WR's-Randal Cobb, Leonard Hankerson, Jeremy Kerley, Jerrel Jernigan, Austin Pettis, Greg Salas, & Dane Sanzenbacher.
DE's-Ryan Kerrigan & Allen Bailey
LB's-Mark Herzlich, Casey Matthews, & Doug Hogue
DT's-Marvin Austin, Corey Liuget, & Jarvis Jenkins
OL's-Nate Solder, Anthony Castonzo, Mike Pouncey, & Marcus Cannon

Now of course there were top 15 guys like AJ Green, Julio Jones, Dareus, Fairley, Miller, & Ingram that I didn't mention simply because there's not a chance in hell they fall to us or we move up enough to get them. But the guys I listed just caught my eye because I definitely noticed very good body control & a quickness that the "drills" don't necessarily show with a final number. So I'd be happy if we drafted any of these guys.

I especially like Randall Cobb, DJ Williams, DeMarco Murray, Leonard Hankerson, Greg Salas, Mark Herzlich, Casey Matthews, Allen Bailey, Marvin Austin, & Nate Solder. These guys are all going to be bona fide play making superstars, mark my words.

And I haven't seen the DB's yet today because I've been working, but I've got them DVR'd & will watch them tonight, so will add to my list probably later.

RE: Combine WR winners/losers
As I explained on Twitter (@walterfootball), the official 40 times are incorrect, and they've been proven false via the NFL Network's simul-cam.

For the 40 times, I use the NFL Network's unofficial times, which are more accurate. NFL teams use their own timed 40s anyway, so the official 40s are meaningless. - Walterfootball

Just throwing that out there.
