RE: Dawgs vs. Boise Tonight 8pm ESPN
i think it was back in 07, the dawgs went into tennessee and got totally embarrassed by an absolutely pathetic volunteer team. I started asking then when was Richt going to be replaced.
3 of the first 5 plays last night were penalties. absolutely the most horrible preparation, or lack thereof, we could witness. totally embarrassed at the 'performance'. i say either richt goes, or we let Texas A&M have our SEC spot and we bow out. Chew on THAT, Petunia!

I'm listening to 790 via stream and dudes are calling saying Georgia didn't have the talent to keep up with Boise. What pills are they taking? Beau Bock is giving them hell. I'm a die-hard UGA guy, but are that many of our fans that delusional? Don't we have a top 10 recruiting class every year? Richt should have been fired at halftime yesterday. If you can't see it's the coaching you are delusional. We need to give up on this college football season and focus on the Falcons. I have zero faith in Mark Richt, and haven't in years.

Like I've been saying to people the last couple of years, if the Dawgs disappoint on Saturday, usually the Falcons can make everything better on Sunday.

For the record, I'm a Tech fan. Having gotten that out of the way, I don't think getting beat by the no. 5 overall team in the country is anything to go jumping off the bridge about.
I know a lot of ridiculously deluded UGA fans had decided Boise State was a garbage team that didn't deserve a shot at an SEC team. They were wrong. Boise State is a really good football team. UGA is better than they looked Saturday precisely because the team that beat you is better than you gave them credit for. Don't sweat it. It's a long season. |

Having gotten that out of the way, I don't think getting beat by the no. 5 overall team in the country is anything to go jumping off the bridge about. You apparently didn't watch the game. UGA had 3 penalties in the first 5 plays of the game. The players on defense were tapping their helmets all fucking night, which means they're tired and need a break. The guys on offense were cramping up every time they ran 25 yards. Nobody on UGA's defense knows how to wrap their arms around somebody when tackling. Aaron Murray had less than 2 seconds to throw the ball at least 90% of pass plays. He was sacked at least 8x. UGA's DL has 50+ lbs and 4 inches on Boise's OL and LB's who can run 4.5 40's, yet we couldn't get past 6' 290 lb white guys to sack Moore even ONCE. Not a single sack. We blitzed or rushed more than 4 guys only 5 fucking times out of 75 total plays (meaning we schemed to cover rather than pressure) and Moore still completed 28 or 34 passes. Even though on 1 of those 5 blitzes we forced Moore to throw an interception, but we only came back to the blitz maybe 3 or 4 more times. Half of the receptions by Boise, we didn't even have a DB within 10 feet of the receiver. And our LB's were dropping into coverage half the time on top of that. It was the most sloppy, poorly schemed offense and defense, and poorly coached game I've seen in a very very long time. Do NOT be fooled by the 21 points UGA scored and the fact it was 390 total yards for Boise and 373 total yards for UGA. The game wasn't even fucking close. Chris Peterson had his team ready. They were well conditioned. They were incredibly disciplined. They're offensive game plan/scheme was dynamic and complex. His very average, undersized, 4.6 speed, white receivers ran perfect routes and knew exactly how to find open space and seperate from DB's EASILY. His much smaller OL was somehow able to completely dominate UGA's much larger DL. His 2-star RB knows exactly how to spin, break tackles, find holes, and pound the football forward. And his defense had the perfect scheme to defend UGA. They rushed 6, 7, sometimes 8 all damn night and absolutely dominated a tired UGA OL. And their DB's actually jarred our receivers on the line and forced them off their routes to disrupt the timing throws perfectly and then stuck to their hips in very tight man coverage all damn night. Mark Richt and Mike Blowbo had a vanilla as hell offense except for 2 plays. They kept trying to pound the freshmen Crowell inside the tackles against 7 or 8 defenders in the box over and over and over even though it was OBVIOUS Crowell was beating defenders around the edge the couple times they did that. They ran a total of 1 fucking screen play all night and didn't even start running play-action until midway through the second half even though their pressure was killing us the entire time. They kept trying deep timing routes even though it was obvious their DB's were pushing the WR's off the route at the line. Aaron Murray had such little time to throw, he was forced to stare down his #1 target, which was always and predictibly Orson Charles because the other 3 receivers couldn't get rid of their alligator arms all night because Boise simply knew what was coming and when and exactly how to cover it. Richt, Bobo, and Grantham did not have UGA anywhere close to prepared for this game and I doubt that's going to change. Richt is too nice of a guy and he brings no fuel or fire to this team any longer. At halftime, he was telling them what they did good and bad rather than ripping them new assholes like he should have been. After watching that game, I picture a 7-6 season at BEST and Richt finally getting the boot along with Bobo. I pray at this point they make an offer to Chris Peterson or Gary Patterson(TCU) that they simply can't refuse. Something like $5M a year and just buy them away from their current programs. Those guys are by far the smartest coaches in college football right now and the SEC/UGA can easily afford to overpay them to get them if they want. Fuck Mark Richt either way though, he's done in my book. I use to be on his side, but no more. Last night was unforgivable. |

RE: Dawgs vs. Boise Tonight 8pm ESPN
The UGA program is in shambles; pretty much has been for years now already. I agree that Richt & Staff are totally done. They "got nothing" at this point. Barring an utter miracle turn-around I see UGA having yet another losing season.
There are several coaches out there that could bring "IT" back to UGA within a couple years of their hiring; they just have to be offered the right $x,000,000 and scenario |
