Clay Matthews: "We beat ourselves...in all four losses"

RE: Clay Matthews: "We beat ourselves...in all four losses"
To be honest - 90% of the games lost are lost because of mistakes by the losing team.

Coach Smith was saying how small the margin is in talent between the worst team in the NFL and the best. He's right.

The teams that play disciplined football all 60 minutes and stay healthy are the teams that win the most. The teams that make mental or physical mistakes during the game are the ones that generally lose. There are not many teams so dominant that they can beat every team in the NFL when the other team is executing their game plan and playing disciplined football for 60 minutes and not making mistakes.

It almost always comes down to a play or two.

I agree to an extent. In a lot of cases the teams can beat themselves.

In the two problems that gb had, the fumble and the facemask, we made things possible.

The fumble could go both ways really. We hit him hard if you watch the replay but the ball did bounce our way.

The facemask actually saved the packers (as much as it could..
Lol) because Weems was either gone or would've been further down the field.

on the rodgers fumble...did you see the hit that Peterson or Lofton put on him. He didn't just drop the ball on his own accord. We actually hit him. Also the reason he was running it in was because our run defense was stout up to that point. Our run defense dictated that possession.

On the face mask penalty...if he had not done that then Weems either would have ran it all the way or got even further. after he juked the kicker he had a free lane.

Yup that Face mask saved the game winner pretty much right there, sometimes a penalty is better.

I can understand Clay's frustration. The Packers have lost all 4 games on GW FG, two in the last 10 seconds of the game and two in overtime.

But like Tandy said, most games are won or lost because of mistakes. The Falcons aren't making many....or hardly any in the last 4 games, and that is the biggest reason they are 9-2.
