RE: Christopher Owens - evaluation
Carson did exactly what I thought he would do yesterday, throw away from the starting corner, if that corner covered well ,and target the backup who doesn't play much. Owens might be able to get into a groove if he played more, BUT he is nickle and backup and therefore didn't do well against a good QB/WR team. Owens doesn't have great speed so they were trying to not let him get beat like he did on the TO out of bounds at the 5 play just before the fumble. The choice was make them nickle and dime you down the field or let their big receivers get HUGE CHUNKS against Owens if he gets beat. Decent gameplan since our Offense was clicking, but I hope Owens can step up his game if he needs to sub again.
You can't tell me we wouldn't and don't do the same to other teams. Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |

I think next time we'll see Williams. Although the thought of either one of those guys covering Anquan Bolden is frightening. |

Drob said he'll be fine by week 9 but Boldin isn't a speeder I think they put Grimes on him and Rob on Stallworth who is fast. Honestly as tall as Boldin is it will be a trap for Flacco (Who I mind you isn't very accurate lol) to throw at Grimes. And, Grimes isnt getting thrown at a lot this year I mean Brees tried it once and the Sludge Pit had its way with that. Plus Grimes seems to be a better tackler every game. |

I don't think the Falcons FO gave Robinson a 6 year, $57 Million deal to cover the Ravens #2 WR. And a receiver who really, should be at #3 on the depth chart. We paid the guy to be a #1 corner, and he will be that. You won't see Grimes (No matter how well he can jump or make plays.) covering a tall, strong #1 receiver. Not yet anyway.

RE: Christopher Owens - evaluation
Owens did horrible. He was poorly tackling, bit on every route he could have, and was just all around abused. It was disgraceful, and this is coming from a guy who though he was doing very well towards the end of last year.

RE: Christopher Owens - evaluation
Our defensive backs don't play against players, they play sides. Grimes plays the left side of the Defense and Drob/replacement plays right side of the Defense. So unless we radically change our philosophy then that will continue, and hopefully by the Balti game, Drob is back at 100% and ready to ball.
I do hope they make the mistake of throwing at Grimes, I would love for him to get a couple of picks off Flacco and make Flacco's day miserable. Grimes is proving to be our #1 corner, and more and more QBs seem to not want to throw at him. Sorry to say for him, this means not very many picks and thus no real recognition, but it is what it is. Ignorance can be educated.....Stupidity is to the bone. |

RE: Christopher Owens - evaluation
I'm glad we have Dunta Robinson! Thanks TD! Owens just needs more experience.
I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |

RE: Christopher Owens - evaluation
Owens disappointed me, but what's workin the most against him is he might have lost his nickel spot to Williams. I like what I've seen from Williams on blitzes and support much more than Owens and think he should be moved up to that Nickel spot full time.
