Why get Murray when you can get Locke in the 5th?

True I guess. I just know he has really good hands. Not to Familiar with Locke other than that he is a little fast back

He can basically do everything.

Derrick Locke burst onto the scene in 2007 as an unheralded RB who was thought of as a Trackster trying to play Big Time Football (how wrong the critics were). Consistently overlooked because of his size, Derrick has turned into one of the All-Time Cats certainly of this generation. To date, he has more than 1,700 yards rushing (907 in 2009 season), and 17 TDs.
Additionally, Derrick has over 500 yards receiving, and has also surpassed the 1,000 yard mark in KO Returns and 2 TDs. In 2008, Locke suffered a devestating knee injury which caused him to miss half of the season, and for some time there was a concern that he might never play football again.
Again, everyone points to his size as being the limiting factor to him having a productive NFL career, but his past actions (especially coming back from the knee injury) might want to cause some to reconsider his ability. His greatest assets are his speed and tenacity.

Obviously the knee thing is a concern and why his stock is so low. It's not like he will be asked to carry a big load anyways in the NFL. He might even make it past the 5th and could go as low as the 7th. Depends if an owner falls in love with him or not. I think he would fit our team well.

Turner, Snelling, Locke and he also provides depth at KR, PR if need be. Multi tool players are always an asset.

He's not built for that role in my opinion. I think he'll find a place in the NFL, initially as a special teams player, but I don't think RB is going to be his deal.

He's just too big to be the "shifty guy".

I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up on D. Obviously it won't be at QB and I agree he's not really suited for NFL RB either although the guy is tough as nails and has lots of heart.

RE: Change of pace back
I'd rather we spend from 1st to 3rd round on OL, DE, and TE, then we can worry about RB after those needs.

We still struggling at getting after QB this season, So we need a premier Defensive Ends. If Abraham step down, we in a big trouble. And usually DE take some time to get used to the game speed in the NFL.

OL, mann Harvey Dahl, Tyson Clabo, and Justin Blalock are all going to be Free Agents next year. If We cant resign all three of them, then we need to use 1st or 2nd round pick here.

TE, Tony Gonzales is getting old. I dont think Justin Pelle able to take over TG role as Matt Ryan's go to target so either a 2nd or 3rd round wouldnt be bad.

then after all those 3 needs, we can worry about RB. After we still ahve Turner and Snelling, they still performing as a high level. A few team would wish to have either Snelling or Turner, we have the luxury of having both.

i've made more than one post saying i want to see weems in some of norwoods play spots. i think it would work myself, but then i'm not a coach or gm

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Change of pace back
I wouldn't mind seeing them use Weems like they use Harvin in Minny. Start him out wide then motion him into the backfield. The defense wouldn't have the desired personnel for run defense if they didn't see a back in the huddle.
