Peters and Walker have outplayed Jerry, but I will give Jerry one more season before I declare him a bust. Some days I love TD and think he's a genius, and others I think he's McKay 2.0 but even more stuck up because he's doing things "the patriot way." That's not really fair, every team makes bad personnel decisions. Just seems like we've had just as many bad ones as good ones lately.

I'll just say this:

If Jerry's production since he became a Falcon was what it is now without any other factors involved at all I would say that the "bust" talk was warranted....

However, this is a 300 lb. athlete putting weight, tension and torque on a reconstructed knee that is doing things your and my knee will never have to do....

It wasn't so many years ago that several Falcon fans on the OMB were saying that a certain receiver from UAB was a wasted draft pick.....and this guy had no medical mitigating factor(s) at all.

Just sayin' some of you might want to slow your roll a little bit until the Jerry story plays out a bit longer......

I called for Roddy's head and ate plenty of crow. That's why I put up with JA98 for as long as I did. Hopefully next year, 2 years removed from the injury, Jerry will live up to expectations. (isn't he going to be 27 or so by then?) And maybe Baker's arms will hit a weird, arms-only second puberty and grow longer.

Ok, so the last part is impossible, but a man can dream can't he?

What you said about his age was a big gripe for me when we drafted him. I was like ok Peria Jerry I've heard of him but let me go back and do my due dilligence.
This was my reaction:

"WTF he's 24/25 and only just being drafted... hmm ok so he is mature and should be a more seasoned addition to our line. WTF he had a knee injury what the hell are you doing TD Clay Matthews was still on the board!!"

Not gonna lie every draft day, I buy a new rum to toast our draft picks too. And every time one of them makes a play or has a stand out game, I toast them with a shot. But on the night of the 09 Draft that bottle didn't even make it to the Mr. Irrelevant pick I was that pissed off. However I woke up and was like well dudes a Falcon now, and I am my brother's keeper, so fight on

Can we ban the word "bust"? That is the one of the most overused words when dealing with a recent draft pick. In a way this is his first year in the NFL and he is coming off of a torn knee. If anything he should have a handicap like golf, because he basically is handicapped.

by this time next year, we will know the real deal on Jerry. But we should
keep in mind that sometimes a player just can't make it back from his
type of injury.

In the mean time, I'm glad Walker is playing as good as he is
in the rotation.
