Can Someone explain something to me?!?
WEEK 17

Dallas vs WASH - Winner takes the NFC East? I don't get how if Dallas and Washington split victories and have identical division records (4-2).....you would default to conference record

Wash would be 7-5, Dallas would be 6-6 (am I missing some other tiebreak here?) - I am SO darn confused.....especially after NO beat Dallas.....had that gone the other way I could see Dallas still being in it......

Someone Help me to understand....I thought I was pretty savvy with these things.....appears I have overlooked something.....

I really want to see who controls their own destinies and why.....lol Gonna be a crazy week 17....unfortunately for me I have to try to figure out what to do because for my fantasy football league as I don't think our starters will play very long......and i am tied right now with week 17 deciding my championship......

RE: Can Someone explain something to me?!?
When I was watching a bit of the Saints v Cowboys they said something to the effect of Dallas having a better common opponents record as the tie breaker if they end up with identical records I think

RE: Can Someone explain something to me?!?
1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games. BINGO!

That was it....I thought Conf record would be before common opponents....Dallas beating CAR, Pitt and Cinc is what saved them. Thanks....don't know why I didn't see that before.

The reason common games comes before conference games when deciding a division is because it's more fair that way.
