Breakdown of the Time to Throw in Game 6
I don't have all the receivers numbers finished yet and I'm still backtracking Game 5 because I haven't been home, but I finished the Game 6 time breakdown for all passing plays regardless of outcome. Thought I would share it while I'm still working on the other pieces of the breakdowns.

Game6 (4-3 Defense)
AVERAGE TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS REGARDLESS OF OUTCOME = 1.8 SECONDS
LONGEST TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 3.4 SECONDS
ATTEMPTS WITH OVER 2 SECONDS TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 19 (44.2%)
ATTEMPTS WITH OVER 3 SECONDS TIME FROM SNAP TO PASS = 3 (6.9%)
AVERAGE TIME TIL SACK = 1.8 SECONDS
ATTEMPTS WHILE RUNNING FROM DEFENDER = 8 (18.6%)
TIMES HIT WHEN THROWING OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER THROW = 13 (30.2%)
TIMES THROWN UNDER IMMEDIATE PRESSURE = 30 (69.8%)

The passing stats for this game:

23 of 42 for 250 yards, 2 TDs and 1 Int, 3 Sacks

Pass protection+Mularkey=problems...

[Image: 2menybt.jpg] Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

Well said Tandy! If there is any semblance of a pocket the QB will have 2.5 seconds at least. That 1/2 second is critical!

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!

Wow, those numbers are appalling.

1.8 sec avg sack time?
30/42 passes under pressure?

This line is killing us. If MM is going to be a run first team and play ball control offense, I just don't see it working. We need to work on different protection schemes for our passing game to work. Once we get the passing game fixed then I believe the run will open up.

This is a SERIOUS PROBLEM.

Not an offense in the league that can work under that kind of pressure. Now who wants to volunteer to check our how many times our line gets pushed backwards on run plays and how many they are sending each time they get pressure?

I agree. As for the amount of pressure, I've seen them send only 3 or 4 getting the same push as if they were sending 6 or 7.

A "pocket" is really very simple: The center and guards slow down the interior rush and the tackles make the DE's take a wide rush. Happens to us every week.

I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't!
