Edit: Ok, so I went and checked, and you're right. It's coming down hard, now! And thermometer says 32, so I expect we're going to get some accumulation. Not really sticking to the streets here yet, but the yards and rooftops are covered. Now I'm worried about the pipes in the basement. Just set a couple sinks to drippin' a little, so hopefully it'll be alright. My poor landlord..... he came to try to fix the furnace the other day, and the service man had to break the bad news to him that it will need to be replaced. Shot. 17 yrs old equipment, so I suppose it may have been due, but we owe him $, and the timing just stinks. I am thankful he is a great man, though, and hasn't put my butt on the street.

wow, no heat? that sucks out loud! no fireplace? one of those ceramic tower heaters from home depot would be good....wishin you the best

Oops, didn't mean to make it sound as if I have NO heat! I have some electric space heaters, and the tower you mentioned is in the room I'm holed up in. Plus there's a gas stove in the kitchen. It's just a biiig open place, and I can't afford to run all the electric heaters to keep the whole house warm. There's a gas fireplace too, if things get bad. But only wood enough to burn just for a couple fires, if I go that route. I ain't doin' that unless it gets down in the teens for a while, which I haven't heard to be the forecast. Just have to be conservative w/the electric @ the moment.

My parents are snowed in at their place in Weaverville, NC. Got 2 sets, and I think the others may be snowed in at my stepsister's place in Elkin, NC. Sister and bother in law, Brother and his wife, several more family, kind of in the same situation all up in Asheville. They're supposed to get 5 inches tonight. They have LEGITIMATE grocery store chaos when the weather gets bad up there. Tongue

You know..this is the season of giving.. so in light of that.. Merry christmas to the assholes who woke me up with mortar attacks today.. freaking jerks ruined my damn sleep lol..
