There is a reason I am not a professional at those things. An entire team (including coaches) overlooking an opponent, so much so that they are incapable of performing and unable to execute their jobs, is a ridiculous notion at the professional level. It may not have been the whole team. We all know football is a big team sport. All the parts depend on the other so all it takes is a few pieces to mess with chemistry and then it may be difficult to get that chemistry back evenif everybody start to "step up." Also, I think you may be reading the term trap game wrong. It's not an excuse when I use the term. Its more of the team underestimating the opponent causing a lack of hard work. People get complacent all the time. NFL players and coaches arent immune to that. |

They suck too much this year for it to mean anything. and we know this NOW, but at the time, all we heard was 'reid has our number, reid never lost after a bye week, etc etc' yeah that was a big deal in week 7, plus they were 3-3 then......and we put together a really good game that week, one of our 'closest to complete' games of the year along that thought line, all the people saying we haven't played anyone with a winning record now have to go back and rethink that with the records that Denver and Washington have now..... |

I know what it is and what it means. I will repeat myself just to be sure: professional athletes and coaches are not being "trapped" into losing focus during preparation or failing to execute during the actual competition, predicting that a game is a "trap" game before it is played is like predicting we will never win a playoff game, and calling a game a "trap game" after the fact is simply making an excuse. It is fine if you like the term and think it is meaningful. I disagree completely, though. |

They were a failed offense when we met them. Vick was pure garbage too. Didn't they fire their OC the week before too?

I guess my question to you is....How do you know if you have never been a professional athlete or coach??? I think where you are getting confused is that its an excuse. Not everybody uses it as an excuse. Another question...Why didn't we play well against the Panthers? |
