Just some bookmarks I had saved during the course of the year.

Since there are some who understandably pitch a fit anytime they are forced to revisit their comments after the passage of time has shown them to be so much thoughtless bluster, I'll be nice and leave these quotes uncredited. You all know who you are, though.

Preseason Panic and Dire Predictions

Posted during the 4th and final preseason game, in which no starters played.

Falcons are currently a top 10 offense in the regular season, ranked just behind the Patriots.

TJ Houshmessiah

As of this posting, Jenkins has more receptions, more yards and is averaging almost twice as many yards per game in 5 less appearances. Finneran has scored more TDs.



Other Free Agent Musings

"Curious to find out who, out of the free agent pool remaining, you guys think could improve this team. Greg Ellis,Ken Hamlin, Jevon Kearse, etc...?
Ellis is clearly better than Davis and Sidbury and comparable to Biermann, but with more experience.Why not drop Busterson and let Ellis in the mix. Please explain why that is such a dumb idea."

Number of combined tackles from Ellis, Hamlin and Kearse so far in 2010: 2.


"Not getting Antonio Bryant would be a serious mistake. We become true contenders if we get him. As people can't just double Roddy. Matty Ice will have options as well."

Posted the day a severely hobbled Bryant was released by the Bengals before even playing in a single game for them.


"Hauschka is better than Bryant. Why did we release him? Hauschka went 4-4 on FGs last week with the Lions and 1-1 XP not to mention he is only 25.
Bryant can't even kick a freaking XP."

Bryant is currently 4th in the NFL in FG made with 25. Hauschka has been unemployed for all but one week of the season.



Turner's Right Hand Man

"Matt Ryan is nothing but a game manger ..He is not a great QB ..He is not a bad one..You can not put this team on his back he is not that kind of QB and he is also not a QB that can bring back a team with a deficit."

If I hadn't been asked to save my meaningless stats, I would post that Roddy is currently the #1 WR in the NFL in receptions and yards.



In TD We (Don't) Trust

I have a pretty good source to the Falcons front office, and that person told me that William Moore has been a big disappointment to everyone inside the organization. Obviously him being injured is disappointing, but I mean disappointing in the sense that he actually has a pretty lazy attitude and that his injuries can be directly correlated to his lack of proper conditioning. Specifically, this person told me that Les Snead was a huge advocate of Moore's and that he has accepted and taken the blame for this pick."

This pipeline into the upper levels of the Falcons' front office was oddly unavailable to the poster just seven months earlier, however...

Lol... I was just glad to see that nothing I said was quoted up there. I ain't gonna lie... I was pretty worried about our offense during preseason. And it ( you could argue legitimately) kind of bled over into that first Pitt game, too. By the Taints game, both squads had put my mind at ease.

..... not so much for my heart, but we all know the drill on that one this year...
