Best Message Board Quotes of 2010
Just some bookmarks I had saved during the course of the year.
Since there are some who understandably pitch a fit anytime they are forced to revisit their comments after the passage of time has shown them to be so much thoughtless bluster, I'll be nice and leave these quotes uncredited. You all know who you are, though. Enjoy. Or not. Preseason Panic and Dire Predictions "The score is the only thing that matters and as of now, we're losing." Posted during the 4th and final preseason game, in which no starters played. "Do you think that there is just some switch they will flip and we will be presented with a totally different offense just because it's the regular season?" Falcons are currently a top 10 offense in the regular season, ranked just behind the Patriots. "9-7, no playoffs. The lack of weapons in the receiving group stagnates the Falcons offense." "what i saw vs Pats was not an 11 win ball club what I saw vs Pats was not even an 8 win Ball club" TJ Houshmessiah "TJ would be perfect. but course TD wont get good players." "I'm really disappointed right now. I hope we at least contacted him, but this seems like someone dropped the ball completely." "That is a HUGE LOSS for us. Huge." "what we have is trash. and tj would have been a prime rib." "There is really no argument that can be made for TJ not being an upgrade over Jenkins. The ONLY people who would even try to make that argument are the blind homers that follow the Falcons. TJ>Jenkins. PERIOD" As of this posting, Jenkins has more receptions, more yards and is averaging almost twice as many yards per game in 5 less appearances. Finneran has scored more TDs. Other Free Agent Musings "Curious to find out who, out of the free agent pool remaining, you guys think could improve this team. Greg Ellis,Ken Hamlin, Jevon Kearse, etc...? Ellis is clearly better than Davis and Sidbury and comparable to Biermann, but with more experience. Why not drop Busterson and let Ellis in the mix. Please explain why that is such a dumb idea." Number of combined tackles from Ellis, Hamlin and Kearse so far in 2010: 2. "Not getting Antonio Bryant would be a serious mistake. We become true contenders if we get him. As people can't just double Roddy. Matty Ice will have options as well." Posted the day a severely hobbled Bryant was released by the Bengals before even playing in a single game for them. "Hauschka is better than Bryant. Why did we release him? Hauschka went 4-4 on FGs last week with the Lions and 1-1 XP not to mention he is only 25. Bryant can't even kick a freaking XP." Bryant is currently 4th in the NFL in FG made with 25. Hauschka has been unemployed for all but one week of the season. Turner's Right Hand Man "Matt Ryan is nothing but a game manger ..He is not a great QB ..He is not a bad one..You can not put this team on his back he is not that kind of QB and he is also not a QB that can bring back a team with a deficit." "Ryan is the problem, the faster our homer fans realize that the better. He's a solid QB, mediocre play who won't give us more than what he did his rookie year. That year was his peak, the best we will see." Un-Elite "roddy is unreliable. and the fact that yall say he is the good reciever on the falcon team is just another example of alot of peoples acceptance of mediocracy for this squad. save your stats save your fact that he's gotten accepted twice to a game that in absolutely no way shape or form helps the falcons. he will not be any different when the season starts. yes he will make catches yes he will score touchdowns but he will drop more then he catches he's just an average reciever and will never be one of the greats" If I hadn't been asked to save my meaningless stats, I would post that Roddy is currently the #1 WR in the NFL in receptions and yards. In TD We (Don't) Trust "No reserved flights for a new WR when ours were dropping like flies tells me this team isn't serious about making a run. Them also declaring Bryant the winner after the first pre-season game, and not bringing any other kickers in to create some competition there, tells me this team isn't serious about making a run" "[Dimitroff] has several philosophies that work great in theory but struggle on the field. 1.Build through the draft. 2.Small, penetrating DT's 3.Run blocking WR's There are a few more, but this is my issue. I don't like his style." Spider Bite "Posted 26 April 2010 - 12:55 PM I have a pretty good source to the Falcons front office, and that person told me that William Moore has been a big disappointment to everyone inside the organization. Obviously him being injured is disappointing, but I mean disappointing in the sense that he actually has a pretty lazy attitude and that his injuries can be directly correlated to his lack of proper conditioning. Specifically, this person told me that Les Snead was a huge advocate of Moore's and that he has accepted and taken the blame for this pick." This pipeline into the upper levels of the Falcons' front office was oddly unavailable to the poster just seven months earlier, however... "Posted 08 September 2009 - 09:41 AM What's William Moore's status for Sunday? I'm not wondering how much playing time people think he'll get, I am just wondering if anyone knows what his health status is going into Sunday's game. Thanks." Feel free to add your own. |

RE: Best Message Board Quotes of 2010
Lol... I was just glad to see that nothing I said was quoted up there.
I ain't gonna lie... I was pretty worried about our offense during preseason. And it ( you could argue legitimately) kind of bled over into that first Pitt game, too. By the Taints game, both squads had put my mind at ease. ..... not so much for my heart, but we all know the drill on that one this year...

Not that I couldn't have filled an entire post with just Swift quotes had I been inclined to take time to dig them up. (12-19-2010 12:26 AM)The Falcon Jedi Wrote: I never said any of that. "Huge." |

As a man of class, I would like to post this video in response of those who during the off/pre-season were questioning my intelligence, calling me a blind homer, etc for the things I said...

RE: Best Message Board Quotes of 2010
I LOVE stuff like this. Cooper, I could show you even more insane stuff.
Like "if you think Turner can be an elite NFL back you have your heads in the air" kind of stuff. One guy said the 2008 season will revolve around how well Jamaal Anderson plays.lol It's fun to look back and then sometimes when you do, if you cross the wrong person you get in trouble.
