Atlanta players whose contracts have expired according to Pat Y
"Atlanta: Mike Peterson, Tyson Clabo, Harvey Dahl, Jerious Norwood, Jason Snelling, Brian Williams, Justin Blalock, Brian Finneran, Matt Bryant, Michael Koenen, Stephen Nicholas, Brent Grimes and Eric Weems.
Summary: Grimes is coming off a breakout season and likely will be classified as a restricted free agent. Most of the veterans on this list are role players and wouldn’t be considered for the franchise tag. The two long-shot exceptions could be kicker Bryant and punter Koenen. The Falcons used the franchise tag on Koenen in 2009 and let him play for the restricted free agent tender last year. The 2010 franchise tag for punters and kickers was $2.8 million. I have a tough time seeing general manager Thomas Dimitroff using a franchise tag on a punter or kicker. The Falcons don’t really have any need to use the tag." http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth theProf |

Sam Baker should be shifted to LG after letting Blaylock go, and maybe draft a LT

Erik Coleman and Jamaal Anderson are still under contracts, but might be released by the Falcons, if Atlanta decides not to go along with the salary increases to $3.6m and $3.0 respectively in their contracts for the 2011 season:
"Anderson, Coleman candidates for release Falcons DE Jamaal Anderson and S Erik Coleman are candidates to be released this offseason.Anderson is coming off his best season in Atlanta as a key component of a better than expected run defense. The Falcons have to decide if he's worth $3.6 million with reinforcements needed at receiver, tight end, running back, pass rusher, and secondary. Coleman, due $3 million, would have to take a major paycut to return." http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4193/player?r=1 theProf |

RE: Atlanta players whose contracts have expired according to Pat Y
Appears that Atlanta might try to resign RBs Norwood and Snelling:
Falcons expected to keep RB corps intact. Posted Jan. 28, 2011 @ 12:26 p.m. ET By Dan Parr We hear the Falcons would be content to head into next season with the same group of running backs that helped them finish 12th in the league in rushing in 2010. Two of RB Michael Turner's top backups — Jerious Norwood and Jason Snelling — each signed one-year contracts last offseason and their deals are due to expire in March. It's not yet clear if they will be unrestricted or restricted free agents — we won't have a definite answer on that until there is a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. We're told Atlanta is interested in giving Norwood, who played in only 12 games over the past two seasons because of injuries, another chance. He could be relatively cheap to re-sign because of his injury history. Snelling has emerged over the past two seasons with Norwood ailing and could draw interest from other teams if he's a UFA. Backups Gartrell Johnson and Antone Smith combined for 11 carries last season and both could be back. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2011/01...rps-intact theProf |

People will say what they wish. But in terms of offensive line production, Blalock has been the one consistent guy there for the Falcons. He rarely has a good game, he doesn't give up on any plays, and he rarely misses his blocks. I would like to see us get Clabo as well, but my feeling is that both Clabo and Dahl are going to want way too much yearly.

I dont mind taking a chance with Norwood for 1 year deal and pray he can stay healthy but Snelling has to go then but one of them either or ..Id rather keep Norwood and draft a rb to groom to replace Turner in 2 years ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB .
