Just think if we TD was this bold to make this kind of move and offer up this much for a unproven player what else could have we gotten is the bigger question from Fitz to whoever.
This moved screamed panic move..I believe TD tried for AJ Green and failed
and that lead to this package that was probably sweetened even more when AJ off the table

TD and our front office only MEET with Jones 1 time

Im sorry you dont move up like that and you meet with player once and your sold..Your selling future draft picks for this player..SHIT we meet with Jerrigan 3 fucking times and he was rated a 2nd round player

I wouldnt say panic.... I would say it scream urgency tho.

The 1 meeting thing isnt a big deal with me because as TD said in a interview,.. They scouted the guy all year (just in case) ... So your scouts have a boatload of info... You hear what type of guy he is and when they met him i guess it confirmed it....

From my account we met with Jernagen 2 times (workout and visit) ... Julio had the foot surgery (he said he is cleared to start workout monday) So that workout visit wasnt possible for any team... So the one visit make sense

I feel like we gave up A LOT.... But if Dude is the weapon weve been missing,... Its an ok move..

He should have a great year tho... Should see alot of 1 on 1's

Quote:On the process that went into making the deal:

“We spent a lot of time on this. … This wasn’t a sort of off-the-cuff, in-the-moment, heat-of-the-battle let’s just trade up because we like this guy. We’ve contemplated this for over a month and we’ve done probably as much research on Julio as we had done narrowing down on Matt Ryan. This was a major move; we all know that. … There are a lot of owners out there who wouldn’t have granted the leeway to make such a bold move, so I appreciate that we appreciate that.”

Oh please. The guy was all for it if we drafted AJ Green or Patrick Peterson. He isn't upset that we gave up too much, he's just bitching because we didn't take the guy he had on his little mock draft/big board.

I'm not thrilled about losing next year's picks, but I'll worry about those NEXT YEAR. If we win a Super Bowl this season, I won't give a fuck.

I agree with the analysts, this draft is WEAK. We just picked up the Reggie Wayne to complement our Marvin Harrison.

I would have loved to find Abe's replacement. But honestly, who would we get? Quinn had a brain tumor, and Bowers is still out there because of his knee. Clayborn had a birth defect that caused him to be stuck a RDE. Aldon Smith was a reach, everybody else was a better fit at 3-4DE. Kerrigan was the safest pick, and wasn't worth 6 overall, wouldn't have been there at 27. Even if we did pick him up, I don't see him as that much more talented after Biermann or Sid.

There was no Defensive player besides Peterson or Miller that sure things, and they were gone.

We still have Free Agency ahead, and we have players on the roster that are developing and ready to step up.

It was a big risk, but we are still in good shape.

would you trade julio jones for hankerson, a first, 2 seconds, and 2 fourths? i would in a fucking heartbeat. when you look at it like that, td got raped especially considering what was given up and the fact that we settled for jones instead of green. i do like the fact that he grew a sack and threw the patriot way out the fucking window.
