Ugh, I know. I'm normally opposed to bringing in aging vet's, but I'm willing to make an exception for Champ Bailey this year. I think he could be our poor-man's Charles Woodson for a year, maybe two, and be a stop-gap at the NB while we groom his replacement.

Owens and Jackson were 3rd rounders. IMO if a GM spends a third rounder on some one he is projecting them as a starter, not a nickle. And TD spent two draft picks to move up in the 5th to get Franks. Is that something you would do for a special teams player? That is why we had to spend an ungodly amount on Dunta, because TD picks busted. Hell, Tramon Williams and Brent grimes were undrafted free agents and they turned to starters. Why did Franks not even see the field this year?

These days, a NB is a starting CB, not a depth player. The old days of just having two quality CBs is dead and gone. TD stated flat out that he projected both of them as Nickel backs with potential starting ability, and Owens actually started for us as a rookie(and did extremely well oddly enough).

Franks was projecting as a ST player and return man. Picking extremely rare examples of undrafted players and saying why can't our 5th round pick CB(5th round starters are extremely rare in the NFL) end up like that is ridiculous.
