I still think Jenkins is enough for our receivers to flourish. LT is the big need imo.

Happy with the record. But, like many, wary of our weaknesses.
I see a lot of complaints about Mularkey's play calling. I think that the complainers are not looking at the realities of our personel. Despite all the tough talk, our OL (particularly the interior) is not winning the battle of the LOS. Ryan stil does not have a comfortable pocket to survey the land. Our interior run game does not consistently come up with the tough yardage when most needed. Mularkey has to add an extra tackle next to Baker way too often. Our coaches are doing a fantastic job with the talent that we have. While TD has done a great job of adding talent, we are still lacking a quality OL. Congrats to the Defense. Despite the many three and outs from our Offense, the D continues to get the ball back into Ryan's hands. Thanks to our D, we have a winning record. It is now time to build a better OL. |

It was said yesterday that Ryan sucks against the 3-4. But I put it to those who have said this that it is the O lines inability to consistently match and then dominate 3-4 defenses that is adding to what is often a natural issue for young QB's against the 3-4. It's a defense that will confuse and rush the QB at times when the O Line is a good one. But when you have a line that plays average at best against such a formation, the QB is going to struggle and look far worse than he genuinely would be. Peyton Manning had his troubles against a 3-4 as a young QB, and from time to time they can still get the better of him now that he has become who he is today. I AM NOT SAYING MATT IS PEYTON.
I think our O Line was built for the way the NFL used to be, but now with all the passing going on D's have started adapting across the board to this far more aggressive and diverse front, I think we need to see an evolution/change in our blocking scheme and some of our personnel if we are to progress to being a dynamic passing offense because against these D's, with our O line that is a big ask. |

Just not getting it done upfront and finding other ways to compensate for it. This team should have killed SF and CLE....scores were way closer than they should have been. The real test will be next week. The Eagles will be monsters upfront. I hate to be pessimistic, but a loss wouldn't surprise me here. NO wasn't the pivotal game this year, this game is. A win means they have arrived. A loss means more work to do..especially the O-Line. The unit that scares me the most. |
