RE: Am I wrong here?
I married a Broncos fan....well before the Falcons played the Broncos in the Super Bowl.
I have to be honest. If you met a nice girl and she was smoking hot and you decided that you didn't want to pursue her because of the football team she cheers for.....I think that is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. I don't know....just me I guess. Admittedly, I take football a good bit less seriously than a lot of football fans. |

If she was let's say a Patriots, Broncos fan, whatever, I wouldn't care at all. I don't make being a Falcon fan a prerequisite, I don't even care if they watch football at all. If they are a die-hard Saints fan though, that's going to be an issue. I just can't imagine watching my Falcons and having my lady talking crap in the background. Understand, I have a business I run, a job, and the legal guardian of my younger sister, I have ALOT going on outside of watching football. However, I've been a die hard fan of this team for a long time, since I was around five. I remember being on my uncle's shoulders in Fulton Co. stadium watching the Falcons get the crap kicked out of them. All to go to games I saw my Uncle have to pawn stuff for just so he could show me a football game. So call me a loser, but the Falcons are important to me especially for what they mean to this city. To each his or her own, but at least for me, I just can't do it. |

RE: Am I wrong here?
My wife was a huge Dallas fan when I first met her. I took me a few years, but now she hates the Cowboys almost as much as I do and proudly dons her Jonathon Vilma jersey on all game days. She does still have her Troy Aikman jerseys in the closet, though.

RE: Am I wrong here?
The more I think about it I realized it's not really a sports thing at all. It comes down to passion and emotion. And the more of each of those you have in a relationship the more compatible you need to be. It's no different than if two politically active people had opposing viewpoints, just not going to work in most cases. I have a feeling that Tandy is the exception rather than the rule, sounds like it was difficult but glad it wasn't the Falcons fan that had to de-fan

I was running around the living room with my arms in the air and she was along for the ride. If we were being filmed we would have fit right into that commercial. LOL!! It was too funny.
