gonzo is declining and if you stop roddy, there's a pretty good chance our pass game will struggle. i don't think peyton is looking for a #2 that will put up 80 catch 1,000 yd seasons, but a number to who has the potential to have a big game if our 1st and/or 2nd options in the pass game are stopped.

the chances of jenkins having a big day when our #1 is stopped are very slim, which is why peyton keeps bringing up the 100 yd thing...i think....

You don't have to have a 100 yards as a WR to win games. Roddy hasn't cracked 100 in the last 4 games, and he's only cracked 80 once in that span.

And frankly, most teams in the NFL don't have a #3 guy who can take over games if #1 and #2 are stopped. In our offense it almost isn't needed, because if you've sold out that much to stop Roddy and Gonzo then Turner or Snelling is running hog wild over you.

Jenkins is missing things you hope to have in a starting WR. Agility and elusiveness and the ability to break tackles being the most notable.

That being said, like most of the Falcons, he is making the most of his ability this year. He is catching the ball when it is thrown to him and he is playing hard.

Props to him for all that. I wouldn't take it to mean that his position is secure for 2011 though.

I'm never going to confuse MJ12's ability to be close to what we have in Roddy, but in our system as it is now he's fine.

He's not a game changer in the classic sense. However, Mularkey seems to have an excellent ability to use what strengths he has almost perfectly on our team at important moments in games, and Matt just seems uber comfortable with MJ12 at times. Mularkey also seems to not put MJ12 in a position to try to do things he's not good at. If Jenks were forced to do some of those things we'd probably be hurting.

I have no problem with upgrading the #2 WR position if a clear upgrade is available, and the cost is right, but I could say that about a lot of positions on this team if need be. I would hope no player on this team ever grows complacent about the security of his position.

RE: All Michael Jenkins do is make the BIG CATCH
another solid game by Jenkins ..

he missed what 5 games ..He would have wound up with around 65 catches 700 yards 4 tds or so

thats not bad at all for a wr that is our 3rd option in passing

When we need a catch in the 4th that will keep the drive alive ..he makes that catch

all he does is make the big catch ..He isnt the greatest number 2wr but he gets the job done ..what a CATCH on his finger tips stretched out and gets feet down .

Yessir, he sho do. Nutin but. He sho do.

I think he is just fine. Guy is catching everything this year. He is also making the tough catches.
I believe he has earned respect.

He is playing the best he can, and he deserves props for that. I'd just like to see a guy who can do more things.
