RE: All Michael Jenkins do is make the BIG CATCH
What I feel is the Truth regarding Jenkins:
He is Clutch and that my friends is not nothing. He is a Physical player that fits our system and that is why Smitty got him extended in the first place. He sucks as far as Fantasy Football is concerned. Our Offense was struggling without him. With him we are one of the best offenses in the NFL. He does everything he is asked to do and does it the best he can without complaints. He never complains about not getting more passes thrown to him, and does not bitch about having to block for the running game. And he NEVER takes a play off. He plays his role to perfection and makes us a much better team. He gives 110 Percent for 60 minutes week in and week out. He is a straight blessing to our locker-room and a Team-Leader. I would like to see someone provide a statistical breakdown that shows he drops a lot more passes than anyone else with similar chances. Note: He is not the 2nd option in our offense the tight-end is. Note that in 2008 we had sub-par tight ends and Jenks had more production. Note that in 2009 we got Tony G and Jenks production went down. In Conclusion: Our offense would likely not have two receivers with 1000 plus yards in a season no matter who we had, unless all our running backs broke all their legs. Okay that is the end of my rant. Yes I have Man-Love for Jenks. I have it for almost all of our players. I promise I will ignore Jenkins threads for at least a few more weeks. |

RE: All Michael Jenkins do is make the BIG CATCH
This I can agree with
We are a run first team with a top 5 WR & TE So prioroties for a number 2 WR are a lot different I want him to Block, Shut his mouth and when we need him make the BIG catch Jenkins does this so I like him |

RE: All Michael Jenkins do is make the BIG CATCH
That Jenks hate quieted up really quick. I have always said that he is perfect for our #2 spot. Disagree all you want, what he does for our offense when hes on the field is NOT marginal.

Swift, I like how you bumped this thread after the d rob thread went down in flames. This is quality. Jenkins has been showing up and he has saved games for us this year. Strange, all our receivers have.

But I wanted to respond to a couple of things Jedi said here. The two bolded things. The Atlanta Falcons have only had seven games in 44 years where they gained both 200 yards receiving and 200 yards rushing in the same game. They've only done it twice in the same season once. That season was 2010. The games were week 2 and 3. Michael Jenkins was not playing. The offense was not struggling. Not a single bit. As for the second bolded item, the 1998 Atlanta Falcons had two 1,000 yard receivers, in fact two 1,100 yard receivers, and they threw the ball far less often than the 2010 squad. The 2010 team throws the ball so often in comparison to the 98 team that they have already thrown 7 more passes than the 1998 team, even with 4 games left. So..look....I am glad Jenkins is playing well. He is still the first starter I would replace on this team, with the possible exception of Kroy Bierman, who just isn't holding up as a starter. |

Definitely good points, but week 2 was against Arizona and that was sort of an outlier. Using the term "struggling" was perhaps slightly inaccurate. I think we did get better when Jenks returned though. However, I cannot even remember which week it was that MJ returned now... |
