RE: About Last Night
Time will tell how this pick turns out. I remember being pissed when we took Ryan over Dorsey in 2008. Looking back, I guess I had no reason to be pissed at all. I have no clue as to what impact Julio will make this year...if there is a this year, but I don't think we gave up Ditka numbers on this at all. They got a 1st, 2nd and two 4ths and as everyone has said, they'll hopefully be late in the rounds.

Now, if we knew we were wanting to do this and free agency had occurred, then I could have seen up pulling the trigger on the franchise tag on Vincent Jackson at two first round picks with San Diego. That way, we would have had a proven commodity instead of an unknown.

But otherwise, I'm ok with the move. Our team is so deep, there's a good chance we won't have all our picks making the roster anyhow.

RE: About Last Night
i would have been more comfortable giving those picks up for a proven player but i admire td ignoring stupid logic shared by many on this board that overvalues draft picks especially late rounders. I dont think julio jones is worth 4 extra picks considering who was left at 27. Jimmy smith, gabe carimi, mark ingram all would have addressed areas of concern but Im trusting td on this one because WR was our biggest hole on this team outside of DE.

our defense is also not as bad as it looks, we just need to stop playing so vanilla. I would love to see our defense operate like we did when we played the Ravens, or the second time against the Saints, or the 1st time we played the Packers;for the first half of all those games. we all were here going bananas at how we were flying around the field hitting people. then what happened in the second halves ... we sat back in zone. we've already got a taste of what our defense could do against 2 of the better offenses in the league, just sustain over the course of a whole game and we'll be fine.

Nice postSmile

RE: About Last Night
The thing I like about Julio is that he was so hyped coming out of high school it was almost unthinkable that he would meet or exceed expectations, and that is exactly what happened.

Also, he shows up in big games (I am an LSU fan, and he pretty much singlehandedly beat us and PP7)

Sounds like you are in a bit of denial, and not capable of
posting up a rational counter point.

So instead of whining like a little girl, why not get some popcorn and your favorite beverage, and enjoy the thread BEYOTCH!

I know you weren't calling me that, I was just explaining how I was using the term. I got what you were doing Wink

Apparently karst is ready TO GO TO WAR, so it wasn't disingenuous so much as it was delusion.

RE: About Last Night
Ok, after a couple nights of heavy drinking, these draft picks are going to be the end of me.

I realize that at some point in the process we have to step it up and make a bold move.

But Good Gawdd AhMighty, AB and TD are trying to capture lightning and put it in a Bottle.

And when Julio becomes our #1 WR, how is Roddy gonna act?
We have watch him grow as a player and become cocky.

We could wind up with some sour grapes turning into whine in the locker room.
