RE: The Hawks
Larry Drew and Josh Smith can jump off the same cliff. Luckily we have money to spend in the coming free agent period which is pretty meh but next years group is amazing so don't be surprised if we don't do anything big in the offseason. Ferry has a plan and I trust him. Yes ideally this team on paper looked like a lottery team but Drew took Teague off the leash and has realized what a dumb idea it was to be sitting him so much.

RE: The Hawks
Didn't people want Mike Woodson gone and now he has led the Knicks to the 2nd best record in the Eastern Conference?

They are wildly under-achieving right now. Have you seen their roster? They should be blowing the doors off everyone and competing against the Heat for best team in the NBA. Well maybe not the Heat, but they should have over 50 wins by now for sure. Mello, Chandler, Felton, Shumpert, Smith, Stoudemire, and a handful of vets. And only 44 wins? Woodson isn't going to be there much longer. |

Just two days ago they were 2nd best and they haven't lost a game, just took a break AND they have had the most injuries out of any team in the league besides the Lakers. They are currently on a 6 game winning streak and they were initially 2 games back of the Heat in the east until the Heat went on a 27 game winning streak. So they were absolutely competing. Melo injured many times Chandler just went down Felton went down for a time Wallace out for the season Stoudemire out for beginning of season and now Shumpert was injured in the beginning as well They went on a slump for a while aftwr Melo got hurt for the 5th time, Chandler went down a few games after that, and Amare got hurt a few games after that. Amare was gettig his game back too. In the beginning of the season they were the best team in the league and beat the Heat twice by 30+ points. They also have almost the same exact team as last year before Woodson took over and they have been MILES better than they were with 'Toni. Woodson isn't going anywhere and if you believe that, then you dont watch enough NBA basketball all around. I'm a fan of the Hawks but I watch every team when I can so I tend to pay attention to whats going on with every team, not just one. I'm not saying Larry Drew is the answer but as I said before Woodson has done wonders with the Knicks and way more for that team than a big named coach ('Toni) ever did and people wanted Woodson gone. |

RE: The Hawks
Tanking would have been the worst thing that could have happened to the Hawks this year and the reason being that drafts in the NBA haven't been great and won't be great this year and with all of that cap space that Danny has, he needs this team to be as competitive as possible to attract top names to the Hawks. Players in the NBA (and really any major sport for that matter) want only two things: to win and to get paid. If the Hawks would have tanked, then top guys such as Dwight, Jefferson, Iggy, Paul, etc. wouldn't even consider the Hawks because they'd look at the situation as the Hawks are in a rebuild and Smoove is gone too. Then we would have to overpay a guys like O.J. Mayo or Tyreke Evans to come play for us. This is a good thing that the Hawks are in the playoffs for the sixth straight time and how far they go in the playoffs is irrelevant. The Hawks will have 2 first round picks this year as long as Houston makes the playoffs, so Danny will have ample picks to get his guys. His first two picks (Jenkins, Scott) have shown to be keepers, so I trust him in the draft. It's also possible he uses those picks to trade up and get Otto Porter or Alex Len. This offseason for the Hawks will be an interesting one!

RE: The Hawks
Mike Woodson, what another moron. ISO JOE, ISO JOE, ISO JOE. Refused to develop young players. Pretty much killed Acie Law's career and was doing the same thing to Teague. He walked into a situation with the Knicks where the the vets could carry the team and he didn't have to worry about developing anything. What a dumbass though.
