He is being asked to do more, and has not been throwing as many interceptions, and should be increasing his pass yards, etc. Pocket presence and knowledge of the game are coming to him, but we can't be demanding him to be winning us a Superbowl and be a perennial Probowler after 37 games.

Please dont equate stats as being asked to do more...just cause he threw a couple more td passes doesnt mean he is being asked to do more.. Also take into fact that teams are loading the box and trying to contain Turner forcing our offensive game plan

we ran more no huddle in Ryan rookie season then we have ..imo

Ryan his rookie year had a better PASSER RATING then he has now 3rd year in
slightly better comp % his rookie year

Ryan rookie year he has better 20+ passes then he has in his 3rd year or on pace to

again stats are stats ..Nothing is showing me Ryan has made a vastly greater improvement from his rookie season so far ..

and the looks test he actually looks more timid/ he stares his wrs down he doesnt use a pump fake or ball fake and right now is very bland ... His rookie year he looked something special

I would attribute it to him passing the ball a lot more. He passed more in 2009 despite missing two games. He's on pace to blow both pass attempt numbers away this year by hitting almost half that number after only 6 games. No one has to stack the box because our OL doesn't open up any holes.

For someone who claims football is so simple, u are right when u look at it in stats, Football is not a game of stats, you cant base ones performance ore improvment based just on his stats from more tds to less ints... You have to realize Ryan did so well his first year why becasue there was no game tape on Ryan ur basically playing a Qb u had no tape for, Look at Bradford he is playing very welll for a rookie, im not knocking on him but teams cant completely gameplan for him cuz of limited tape, Ryan has 2 seasons worth of tape for opposing teams to study and game plan for, Teams mainly gameplan to stop our Run but when they are set to stop the pass they have enough film on us to know how to stop him...Ryan has improved drastically if u actaully watch him play and not base his improvment just based on what his stats show....Have u ever even played football, and i dont mean pick up games on the weekend??

The o-line is definitely a problem, and it's not just the sacks. Just watch the miked up part of the Saints game...Ryan is getting hit every time he throws. Same with this last game. You see him go to a quick throw, the camera comes back to him after a play and he's picking himself up off the ground.

This isn't to excuse Ryan all together, but I'm not surprised that he starts getting happy feet, as much as it bothers me.

If I remember correctly, Ryan was hit 14 out of his first 16 drop backs against the 49ers, in a variety of formations/sets/situations.

Heck, I distinctly remember multiple times in the Browns game where they rushed 3 and Ryan was getting pressured like he was facing the 77 Gritz Blitz.

We gave up 27 sacks in 09 - Ryan is pressured more, run game falls way off, Ryans ypa drops to 6.6 ypa, offense looks stagnant for the most part.

We've given up 13 sacks so far (on pace for 35) - ryans ypa is 6.1 and our o has looked too much like the 09 birds.

Smitty really needs to re-evaluate the oline during the bye. They're not giving Ryan enough time causing him to checkdown and throw away too much. Can't throw down field if you don't have the time.

I agree, right now, I would evaluate them like Crazy and use the No1 pick on another O-line or free agency. Because, being nasty is nice, we need PASS BLOCKING, If he doesn't have time to throw your screwed. Huh

its a combo of things, i have to think we are not going down the field much cause we dont have time to throw those routes cause our oline is not pass protecting as long, which in turn falls back on he oline. It makes no difference if its the same people we had 2 years ago. Matt is def not getting the time he used to have. Its the same reason why cutler and rogers get sacked so much. Long routes equals your qb getting hit and sacked more.

IMO it is much easier go throw deep when u can actually step up into the pocket to deliver the pass. Watch our games and tell me how often Ryan has that opportunity ?!?

Yeah that's what I realized too!!!
