No, you were just dead wrong about this team not having enough playmakers. Conveniently omitted in your post is the fact that the 2010 Falcons featured the third ranked RB in the NFL, the second ranked WR, the 11th ranked TE and a "#2" WR that would have notched a 60 catch, 700 yard, 3 TD season had he played in all 16 games. Is that enough playmakers to field an uber-dominant Madden team? No. Is it enough playmakers to win a Super Bowl? Easily. Especially when you consider that 8 of the last 10 Super Bowl Winners featured #2 WRs with names like Devery Henderson, Amani Toomer, Antwan Randle El, David Givens, Troy Brown, Keenan McCardell, David Patten and Travis Taylor. It should come as no surprise that none of those guys put up better per game numbers than Jenkins did this year. Like I told you and countless others back in the preseaon, we don't need a Vincent Jackson lined up across from Roddy to make a Super Bowl run. Now that that fact has become more apparent than ever, you are trying to make the case that we are winning despite our players, not because of them. Sorry, but you are just as mistaken now as you were then. That said, I agree with you about 2010 being a remarkable season. |

RE: A Truly Remarkable Season
This season is indicative of the amazing coaching staff that TD and Mike Smith have put together. It really may be the best staff in the league as a whole. They get the very best out of their players.

I think Peyton is saying it takes more than four play-makers, although, calling Jenkins a play-maker is a stretch. Two touchdowns, even in only 11 games, does not a play-maker make. It's a wierd perversion...but you know...different strokes for different folks. |

I thought your write up was dead on. There was no way I thought y'all would be able to put up the record you did with the limited weapons that you had. The total lack of costly injuries helped tremendously. Y'all are just a couple of pieces away from being able to weather even that. Saints Fan Since 1967

That's been a huge factor in this season, but I do have to give the Falcons credit for winning a bunch of games with Roddy White seeming like he was 80%. |
