Yep, reportedly a 5 year deal worth $25 million.

Of course, he still has to pick who will be his starting QB, Alex Smith, Troy Smith or David Carr. Decisions, decisions.

Anything is better than Singletary. But this hire wont work. Harbaugh has almost no NFL experience, and that never turns out well.

that often has proved the case, i'd think someone in that situation would have to have a very experienced staff to work with to have any success.

To be honest, I would be very shocked if this actually pans out as a success for the niners. Jim Harbaugh just kind of seems like the next Nick Sabin to me plus he needs to find a good qb quickly if he wants to have any chance because Alex Smith is one of the biggest busts in NFL history.

RE: 9er's new head coach
I've never seen a candidate with such a weak resume get this much hype. The Dolphins were rumored to be willing to pay him more than Belichick is making in NE. That's freaking ridiculous. Lets' see how he does without a QB prodigy behind center.

RE: 9er's new head coach
The one thing he has in his favor is his many years of experience as a player...

Oh wait...

Didn't Singletary have many years of experience as a player...

Ok, so maybe many years of experience as a player....AND....some actual head coaching experience...

At least he already has an edge over Singletary.
