5 division games after bye week
Does anyone else see this as a potential problem?
For some reason it just worries me.

RE: 5 division games after bye week
Even if we split w/them, which I don't think is going to happen w/Carolina, that's only 3 losses. But it places new importance on the GB and Baltimore game. Tandy's thread was interesting. The Bucs games seem most important now. And they're actually the ones that worry me the most. I predicted pre-season, that we'd split w/the Taints. As much as I'd HATE to see that in our own house, it could happen. Falcons got to get that whole 3rd quarter slouching thing remedied. Our chances are much better w/a lead going into the 4th. I know Matt is dependable for coming back, but I'm still looking to see this team develop that "step on the gas, and don't let up" mentality.

RE: 5 division games after bye week
Nope.
2 against Tampa and 2 against Carolina. That's four wins there. |

RE: 5 division games after bye week
I did see the problem when the schedule came out, but I felt that our biggest challenge was going to be all the 3-4 defenses from really good teams and the 4 road games out of 6. Then there was going into our Division rivals house in the midst of that - with that crowd all pumped up after the Superbowl win. I was really worried about that.
I honestly was hoping we'd go into our bye week with at least a split record - because then I thought we'd stand a great chance down the stretch of making the playoffs. I was hoping we went into the bye week with 3 or 4 wins. I'm so happy that we weathered the hardest part of our schedule and came out 5-2, on top of our Division, with a 1-0 start on division wins. I'm actually thrilled! I'm not saying that the rest of the schedule is easy. By no means. It's critical that we play each game with the same intensity and will to win as we did going into the Superdome. I'm just saying - I really, really, really like our chances of winning this division this year. ![]()

RE: 5 division games after bye week
Tandy, I like our chances as well for winning the division. However, the schedule looks pretty easy for the three of us in competition.
Tampa is playing above expectations. New Orleans below. This is just a messed up season all together as the whole NFL world has pretty much been turned upside down. We usually do split our division wins so im excited to see the results, however, strangely I see us falling to Carolina and NO and TB winning both Carolina games. So we must keep winning.

You seriously, honestly believe that we lose to New Orleans in the Ga Dome on Monday night? If we do - I will wear a Saints T-Shirt for a whole day (before I burn it) Not happening. We take Tampa at our house - and Carolina and New Orleans. We may lose to either one of them at their house - not ours. Even if we lose to Tampa and Carolina at the away games - we still hold the Division in our hands based on the rule of elimination. The only way we lose this Division is if we end up with less wins than another team in the Division. ![]()

RE: 5 division games after bye week
You can look at every team's schedule and find "potential" problems. I'd consider our schedule from here on out as favorable as any other team's schedule. No reason to not win the majority of our games from here on out.

RE: 5 division games after bye week
Our schedule is ideal. All our hard games are at home. The easy ones are on the road.

One game at home against an injured Steelers defense doesn't erase everything. What's Matt Ryan's record at home? There's no way you could have the Saints favored coming into our house. |
