I'm not a fan of college due to the fact that half the games are played against teams that don't have a chance of winning. Then you have those bowl games just so the schools can get extra money because it's a bowl game. There is more money floating around college football than the pros.

you stole my line phocis....shit, as disappointing as the Dawgs have been over recent years they could still take lessons from the Falcons when it comes to that particular attribute.

I dont know, there's just something about college sports i just cant get into it. I grew up cheering for UGA, back when Hershell Walker was playing and we won the Sugar Bowl. But since then, it hasnt done anything for me.

Never cared for college football. The level of competition just isn't as tight as it is in the NFL, not to mention the inferior talent.

I'm a big fan of college football. Especially this past season. No NFL will blow dogs for quarters.

RE: 2 Year Lockout Possible
I don't think there will be a 2 year lockout. Hell I don't think the lockout extends past September/October. Most of these players, especially the players at the lower wage scale (250,000/300,000) won't be able to sustain during a lockout. Once this thing extends to the regular season the players will cave. No games = no paychecks.

RE: 2 Year Lockout Possible
This whole lockout thing just got turned on it's head.

A Minnesota judge ruled yesterday against the owners so they will NOT have access to the $4 billion in credit revenue from the TV networks. This is absolutely huge as now a lockout means the owners do not have a financial cushion to help them make it through if they actually do the lockout. This isn't that big of a deal for the owners who are ultra wealthy, but the ones that aren't completely in the black+ it would be devistating. So it's now extremely likely several owners will begin telling the other owners this is no longer a viable plan & they'll be forced to give in to a lesser compromise with the players.

This may very well be done by midnight tomorrow.

I don't think that there will be a lockout at all.

RE: 2 Year Lockout Possible
Man, I hope not. I enjoy watching some college football games, but I wouldn't know what to do if that was the only football we had to watch. I'd actually be upset over it. It's just not intriguing to me. The games are never that good unless it's two top schools. If a team loses one game, they are already eliminated from pretty much everything. (Except of course the little shit-bowl that they can be placed in so the school can make money.)

It's just a bunch of high-power teams going up against poorly funded schools usually. Once or twice a season your team will have a big game, and then it's smooth sailing.
