10 statistical facts about the Atlanta Falcons this year.
I did this out of boredom, so it actually took quite a bit of time to research all of this. It basically consists of nothing but positive things that in my mind prove that we are a top 10 team in the NFL easily. Enjoy.

1. Matt Ryan is 11th in the NFL in QB rating with 94.3, ahead of former Pro Bowlers Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, Donavon McNabb, and Eli Manning. Take away Matt's week one game against the best defense in the NFL, and you have a QB rating of 113. Only Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler have ratings exceeding that number.

2. Regardless of all the skepticism in Turner's legs this year, he's still in the top 10 (#8) in rushing with 231 yards. In runs over 20 yards, he's tied for 5th with 2. Jason Snelling is tied for 19th with 1.

3. Speaking of Jason Snelling, only 2 rushing touchdowns as a backup makes him tied for 7th in the National Football league. He's also 3rd on the team in receptions with 7 and has a catching TD. The Falcons are the only team in the NFL with 2 runners in the top 20 in rushing yards. Did I mention our QB is tied for 6th in passing touchdowns? That's a complete offense if I've ever seen one.

4. Tony Gonzalez is 5th among all tight ends in receiving yards regardless of a slow week one. Roddy is 8th in receiving yards with 258, and HD seems to be back with his ACL tear.

5. Sean Weatherspoon is 8th in solo tackles, leading all rookies. Lofton isn't too far behind, only having one less total tackle than Spoon. Their 15 total tackles today was only a sign of things to come looking at the rapid progression of both players.

6. Atlanta leads the league with 6 interceptions. The best part? 6 different players picked the ball off.

7. Regardless of all the crap Matt Bryant got in week one, he is now tied for 4th with 7 field goals made. The three guys in front of him all have a lower field goal percentage excluding Mike Nugent who's been perfect. Bryant's only miss came in week 1.

8. Atlanta has had 31 more first downs than their opponents. They also have 16 more 3rd down conversions than their opponents (including penalties). They've out-rushed their opponents by 60 yards per game and 1.1 yards per carry, and 175 total yards.

9. Opposing teams have kicked just 50 percent on field goals against us. Our time of possession is in our favor by over 12 minutes throughout the whole year, and our turnover ratio is +4.

10. We're tied for 1st in the NFC south with two teams. One team won 3 games last year, and the other just got beat by us. Anybody who denies we're not serious contenders this year lives in Tampa Bay, Charlotte, or New Orleans. The lone sad stat of this post? Harry Douglas is averaging -5 yards per carry Sad. (that was totally directed to Mike Mularkey).

I will say that I like what I've seen from Turner. He may never get back to 08 form, who knows? He's busted some decent runs when our line has given him good holes. Earlier today I saw him knock Vilma on his ass to score, so that showed me that it's there. I think when we get Jenks back, our O will get leaps and bounds better. He adds a dynamic that MUST be recognized. Yeah, we all know he's not that intimidating as a deep threat, but when you can line him up on the outside and put HD in the slot, then opposing Ds are gonna start having fits.

This is my signature.

the thread with Ryan's eye-popping 3rd down stats is unbelievable as well..

I will think long and hard before questioning Ryan, you can't fault him for anything the last few games.

His stats were better than what is listed because of those 5 runs from the 1.

He wouldve been 25 ATT 113 YRDS 4.5 AVG
